Jan-Lennard Struff vs Mariano Navone

Jan-Lennard Struff generally struggles on clay, and while the German enjoyed a great Wimbledon, many of his biggest weapons are less effective on this surface. Mariano Navone is a proven clay-courter who has already won a title in Bucharest this year, and his consistency and fighting qualities should allow him to dig deep and get the win.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Jurij Rodionov
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Tomas Martin Etcheverry has had a decent year, although his recent results have been concerning. As the fourth seed, this tournament provides the Argentine with an opportunity to reset and put together a strong run. Jurij Rodionov is relatively inexperienced at this level, and while he has played well in qualifying and the first round, Etcheverry should have too much quality across the board.

Quentin Halys vs Valentin Vacherot
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Quentin Halys arrives in good form after reaching the quarterfinals in Gstaad, the same stage reached by Valentin Vacherot. The Monegasque is the second seed here but has struggled to make an impact this year outside of his run to the Monte Carlo semifinals. Both players are capable servers and aggressive ball-strikers, but Halys enters in better form after beating a solid clay-courter in Laslo Djere and should just edge a tight contest.

Alexander Bublik vs Facundo Diaz Acosta
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Alexander Bublik should have every chance to bounce back from his disappointing first-round loss in Gstaad. Facundo Diaz Acosta is a decent clay-courter, but he may lack the firepower needed to disrupt Bublik’s varied game. The Kazakh’s ability to change the pace and rhythm of rallies should give him control, and he looks capable of dominating this match and emerging as a real contender this week.
