Copa MX Recap: Three Games That Stood Out

America vs Potros UAEM
After going down a goal in the nineteenth minute, Club America battled back in the thirty-three minute when Diego Lainez drew a penalty. Silvio “Chino” Romero stepped up and barely made it past the keeper. In the eightieth minute Chino Romero secured a brace and sealing the win for America. We also got to see the debut of Matues Uribe. The 26-year-old Colombian was subbed on in the fifty-seventh minute. Expect to see him with a start Friday against Atlas. America are second in group 3 with three points, while Potros sit at the bottom of the table with zero points.

Chivas vs Juarez FC
A lot of young guns were given the opportunity against Juarez FC Wednesday night. The young Jose Macias scored in the twelfth minute of play. After that it was just a dull game. Not much excitement to go along with most of the match. Matias Almeyda’s side sits well in the Copa MX standings. C.D. Guadalajara sit on top of group 7 with six points so far this Copa MX. Juarez FC sit at the bottom of the group with zero points.

Tigres vs Zacatepec
A shocking 2-1 defeat to the almighty Tigres UNAL. C.A. Zacatepec took an early 1-0 lead in the eighteenth minute scored by Armando Sandoval. About ten minutes later Zacatepec went up 2-0 scored by Luis Marquez. Tigres scored a consolation goal in the seventy-ninth minute by Damian Alvarez. Tuca had his side rotated a lot. No Javier Aquino, Andre Pierre-Gignac, and other big stars from Tigres. Tigres shockly sits at the bottom of group 5 with one point. Zacatepec sit at the top of the group with four points.
