(HARRISON, NJ)- This week, the guys break down the New York Red Bulls II home opener against Richmond Kickers. The score might have been lower, but product on the field exceeded week one’s draw against Pittsburgh in every way. New York rarely looked out of control during the game, and saw off an opponent that caused them issues last season.

Raising Bulls 5 April 2017 – Arun Basuljevic

Two new pairings made all the difference. First, this week’s guest, Arun Basuljevic paired with Dan Metzger in the middle of the field. The two formed a more cohesive partnership and dictated the pace of the game. Along with a near clinical passing display, the duo racked up some very nice defensive numbers.

Speaking of defense, the guys talk about the central defensive pairing of Hasan Ndam and Justin Bilyeu. The left back moved centrally and showed real promise at the position. The pair seemed to click and brought a calmer demeanor to the back line. Ndam and Bilyeu compliment eachother very well.

After breaking down the game, we spoke to Arun Basuljevic. The rookie looks like a sure bet to run the offense centrally this year. Despite his rookie status, Arun really came off as a future leader. He is a great player with a great head on his shoulders. It was a great chat!

Last, we preview this week’s match against Harrisburg City Islanders. This one is being played at Red Bull Arena. The setting isn’t ideal, it will get some of the new and young players some time at the cathedral of soccer. That’s a very good deal. Plus, Anthony, Bill and Joe make a wager. The only thing is, we don’t have terms. Do you have any suggestions; send them to us on twitter.
