Raising Bulls 22 February 2017

New York Red Bulls Vs Orlando City : News Photo

This week on Raising Bulls, the guys tackle the MLS preseason for the New York Red Bulls II, masquerading as a preseason for the senior team. Despite losing their opening game 3-0, the team played quite well against MLS competition. All in all, the experience of playing the harder competition should be very good for a number of players on the USL squad.

Raising Bulls 22 February 2017 – Preseason, Media Day, and Austin Fido

Our guest this week was Austin Fido, editor of Once A Metro. OaM has been producing great fan content as well as unique editorial voices and analysis. It was great having a chance to speak to him. Glad he could share his opinion on some of the offseason shenanigans.

Then I took my mic to media day to talk to a number of Red Bull players who have graduated from the USL Championship side. Of particular, it was great to see Dan Metzger and Aaron Long get the recognition they deserve. Quite often, players will go unnoticed because they don’t contribute to the offensive column of the stat sheet. Both players were critical to the side last season.

Finally, we finish up talking about all of the roster turnover from last year. No less than eight main contributors from last year’s team seem to be moving on in some regard. Sean Davis is set to play a major role for the first team, as are Aaron Long, and Tyler Adams. Brandon Allen, Dan Metzger, Ryan Meara, and Justin Bilyeu will all likely have some first team roles to play this year.
