CIMA is a one of the mainstays in the world of Japanese professional wrestling. He is the former ace of Dragon Gate, current AEW star & president of OWE (Oriental Wrestling Entertainment). His name continues to get bigger, however. Recently, he made an appearance for AJPW (All Japan Pro Wrestling).
CIMA made a special appearance in the final All Japan show of 2020. He teamed with fellow Strong Hearts, T-Hawk and El Lindaman. CIMA would establish his intentions to come back to the company in the near future. He would do so two months later for a specific title: the AJPW World Junior Championship. At the time, it was held by Koji Iwamoto.
Koji Iwamoto faced off against the top junior heavyweight stars across Japan’s many major promotions. These stars included the likes of Fuminori Abe, Susumu Yokosuka & Ikuto Hidaka, in addition to new stars such as Atsushi Aoyagi & Dan Tamura. This reputation of battling all comers got Iwamoto noticed; eventually, CIMA would challenge Iwamoto after the latter’s match with Abe via video package. It was set official for the 20th of February in the main event.

In the main event of this show, CIMA would add another title to his resume. He defeated Koji Iwamoto in a 20-minute plus bout. Thus, CIMA ended the 200+ day reign of Iwamoto. After the match, CIMA announced his desire to bring El Lindaman and T-Hawk to AJPW.
This is the first time that CIMA has held a singles championship for AJPW. It is also the first singles belt CIMA has held in four years. His first opponent will be All Asia Tag Team Champion Izanagi on the March 21st show. With CIMA as the new AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Champion, what does the future hold for the company’s junior heavyweight division?
