In mid-May, a promo began to circulate for the premiere of a new indie promotion in the Southern Ontario, Canada scene named Backyard Pro. The video promised to use ten Ontario indie wrestlers in a special backyard show, with everyone portraying brand new characters, akin to WWE’s Southpaw Regional Wrestling or IMPACT Wrestling‘s Impact Provincial Wrestling Federation (IPWF).

On Saturday, the roster was revealed and featured Alexia Nicole (who has appeared for IMPACT over the past year), Shane Sabre (who also wrestles in the US indies in Space Pirates with Space Monkey), “Psycho” Mike Rollins, Fight or Flight (Gabriel Fuerza & Vaughn Vertigo), “Hacker” Scott O’Shea, Holden Albright, Alessandro Del Bruno, and Steve Brown (who recently portrayed “Wheels” Deaner in the recent Deaner’s Compound match in IMPACT Wrestling). The roster is a mixture of veterans and rising talent who frequently compete for Southern Ontario indies like Smash Wrestling, Alpha-1 Wrestling, Superkick’D, Capital City Championship Combat (C4), and more. On Saturday, the first match was announced, featuring Alexia Nicole as Detective Cookie Dough facing Shane Sabre as Moondawg.

On Sunday, Psycho Mike revealed he would be re-inventing himself as Psychotic Michael, and he issued a challenge to The Rock.
