The Joshi wrestling scene (Japanese Women’s Wrestling) is a deep scene full of insanely talented performers and every month there are dozens of fantastic matches from promotions from Stardom to Pure-J and everywhere in between.
Important Note (Due to some matches not airing as of the time of writing some presumably great matches can’t be ranked)
10. Haruka Umesaki vs Yurika Ohka
A matchup from Sendai Girls’ rookie tournament that saw Diana’s Umesaki have a great showing against Sendai’s latest gem Ohka. Both women showed tremendous fire and had a fun match that made both look like future stars. Rookie matches are often some of our favorites and this was no different as they had an intense, hard hitting match that was a breeze to watch while still feeling rough around the edges.
9. Rina Yamashita vs Arisa Nakajima
As was to be expected from these two they just hit each other a lot and didn’t hold much back. They’ve definitely got a better match in them but this was a good contest between two of joshi’s hardest hitters.
8. Muki Aono vs Momo Tani
Intense match that opened the show. It was short and sweet but the action was good and both showed great intensity. Actwres girl’Z gets a reputation for being an idol promotion but matches like this show that the talent in the ring can deliver good matches too.
7. Miyuki Takase & Syuri vs Nagisa Nozaki & Takumi Iroha
Takumi beat up Takase which was fun, then Syuri kicked Iroha very hard a lot which was also fun, then Nozaki beat up Takase and if that doesn’t prove this match was great we don’t know what will. Iroha and Nozaki even had some fun tag moves which was a fun addition to their arsenals. (Video below is clipped)
6. Chihiro Hashimoto vs Syuri
Not many words are needed here, these two beat each other up. Syuri was pretty merciless with her kicks and Hashimoto didn’t hold back either. Genuinely thought Syuri had murdered Hashimoto with some of the head kicks which is always amazing. Great match as Syuri once again delivers an entertaining match in a big spot
5. Giulia vs Natsuko Tora
Two badasses with attitude just traded shots with neither woman refusing to back down. This match really showed off the strengths of both women with Giulia especially looking great at multiple points including the spot where she just started slapping Tora knowing that a receipt was coming.
4. Hanako Nakamori & Rina Yamashita vs Leo & Manami Katsu
A stiff, no-nonsense fight from these four. Rina Yamashita and Katsu had some fantastic hoss exchanges with Yamashita reminding us once again that she’s one of the hardest hitters in Joshi. Leon and Nakamori also had some intense exchanges with Nakamori delivering many stiff kicks to Leon. A great tag match that started off intense and only got more violent from there.
3. Syuri, Meiko Satomura & DASH Chisako vs Sakura Hirota, Yuu & Chihiro Hashimoto
Sakura Hirota being comedy gold and showing off her actual wrestling skills as well as Syuri and Yuu beating each other up what’s not to like? Most Sendai Girls tag main events are hectic matches that are very entertaining but this one added in the comedic Sakura Hirota to add some spice to proceedings making for one of the best matches of the month.
2. Mei Suruga vs KAORU vs Aiger vs Sakura Hirota
Four strong characters clashed to provide a brilliant comedy match. Mei was the excitable, energetic youngester surrounded by grumpy KAORU, Sakura Hirota, and whatever the heck Aiger is meant to be. The interactions between the characters was fnatastic and this match is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face with its absurd comedy
1. Chigusa Nagayo & Takumi Iroha vs Mei Hoshizuki & Masha Slamovich
This really was a fantastic match. Joshi and wrestling Chigusa Nagayo and Takumi Iroha mercilessly laid it into Mei and Masha who refused to back down. Mei especially showed tonnes of fire in her comebacks. Nothing will ever be better than Takumi Iroha when she’s cocky and toyinh with women she helped train and this was another example of that dynamic leading to fantastic matches.
