Jamie Hayter became Jamie three belts after defeating Utami Hayashishita at Stardom’s January 26th event in Osaka. Hayter captured her second title in the space of a week after capturing the Goddesses Of Stardom titles at Stardom’s 9th Anniversary show alongside new stablemate Bea Priestley. Hayter won the SWA Undisputed World Women’s Championship, ending Hayashishita’s 370+ day reign.
Jamie Hayter is the 5th SWA champion. The title can only be defended against an opponent from a different country than that of the champion.
The SWA champions have been:
1. Io Shirai
2. Toni Storm
3. Viper
4. Utami Hayashishita
5. Jamie Hayter pic.twitter.com/X8dFTj2j7m— We Are Stardom (@we_are_stardom) January 26, 2020
Hayter came to Stardom to compete in the 5STAR Prix and has been there ever since. During this time she came close to winning her block and has been one of the strongest booked members of the roster. That has all culminated in her being a big part of the new Oedo Tai as she has captured two titles for the faction.
Jamie Hayter and Hayashishita have a budding grudge developing between them as this is the second belt Hayter has won from Hayashishita. The first being the EVE International Championship which Hayter won at WrestleQueendom 2 becoming one of the few people to pin Hayashishita in her career. Utami then defeated Hayter in their GP block match and now Hayter evens up their singles record at two wins each. Utami Hayashishita has been so dominant ever since debuting that you know she won’t take losing her title lightly and will be ready to crush Hayter the next time they meet.
Also of note is Queen’s Quest is quickly losing belts and big matches at a rate we have never seen before. For a long time, they were the most dominant faction in Stardom with Momo Watanabe and Utami, in particular, looking unstoppable. But now the faction is down to just two lower card titles and is licking its wounds after two big defeats at the 9th Anniversary show. With the Stardom Draft presumably on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how Momo attempts to turn things around for her unit.
