Last week it was announced that Pivotshare was finally creating a unified streaming service, called Powerslam Wrestling Network, that would create a one stop streaming service to continue to access these international independents and make it easier than ever to watch their most recent lives, dive into their archived back catalogue, or catch their documentaries and specials.
While FloSlam attempted a similar concept in late 2016, but crumbled nearly as fast as it started. While it initially based around the WWN family – EVOLVE, SHINE, Full Impact Pro, etc. – it failed to establish itself broader on the world stage and collapsed under a lack of content. Powerslam Wrestling Network has an established client base of over a hundred emerging or leading indie promotions under its belt and will head into this new endeavor with a far larger archive to start with, and with a far greater promise of providing new exciting content.
With the emergence of WWE Network, Powerbomb.tv and, most recently Impact Wrestling-backed Global Wrestling Network (GWN), unifying streaming services is becoming a huge part of advancing the presence of indie promotions and getting more stars into the homes of wrestling fans on an international scale.
PWN is available NOW for only $5.99US a month, and on platforms including Apple TV (in Apple App Store), Google Play, Amazon Prime, ROKU or through PWN’s website. In an article by Dave Meltzer, Chris Woolsey stated that “(w)e wanted to create a channel that was going to not only help our partner-promotions generate revenue, but to also reach a huge new audience through super-serving wrestling fans around the globe.”
