The Aussie Icon Grayson Waller made his WWE main roster debut back in May 2023, and since then, he can’t be ignored. He is doing something right, whether it’s his loud mouth or in-ring work. It can’t be denied that he should have a bright career ahead of him.
For most of his time on the main roster, Waller has been teaming with Austin Theory as part of the A-Town Down Under tag team. They have been successful and entertaining, as they are former WWE Tag Team Champions.
However, at what point do these two break up? They are both incredibly talented, and the tag team has seemed to help them both as wrestlers, but is it time for them to go their separate ways? If booked correctly, they could shine as singles competitors, but I’d like to focus on Grayson Waller’s talent right now.
Grayson Waller Has The ‘It’ Factor
Waller is genuinely one of a kind. He has every characteristic needed to be successful in the WWE. Whether people like him or not, he grabs their attention and puts on one entertaining segment.
He has the gift to gab, as one may call it. Waller excels when he is on the mic.
He knows how to get the crowd going and give a verbal low blow in a promo. He’s so good on the mic that he even has his own segment, ‘The Grayson Waller Effect.’
Waller is entertaining because, while he means business, his loud personality brings a sense of humor. He can also complement that with his wrestling skills.
During Waller’s time in NXT, he wasn’t one of the top guys down there for no reason. He has the whole package to succeed in the company: athleticism, charisma, and dedication. He just needs the correct booking to shine on the main roster.
Time For A Singles Run
It seems that Waller and Theory need to move on to something new. They are a great team, and their personalities mesh perfectly, but they have been coasting lately.
The last time A-Town Down Under won a match together was on the September 24 NXT against Cedric Alexander and Je’Von Evans. But that was the first match they won since May. This shows how there aren’t many plans for them right now for an intense storyline or title shot against another tag team.
There have been teasers of a breakup between the two, but this has been teased since this past summer, and nothing has come from it. It almost fizzled out.
If given the proper television time for promos and other segments to build the story, I’m sure they will have a great feud and story with each other. If they do break up and feud with each other, this could be a good start to launch them both toward a mid-card championship afterward and have them go off on their own.
Forming A-Town Down Under has helped these superstars develop their characters and relationships with fans. However, it has come to a point that it seems they will only rise in the company if they both continue as singles competitors.
