WWE NXT is on the fast track to the next special episode, which will be Heatwave and will take place next Wednesday. This will be the second time that the event will be held under the NXT brand’s banner, with the 2022 edition having five matches on the card. The 2023 event promises to also deliver an exciting episode of NXT that wrestling fans will not want to miss, and the build-up to it continues this Tuesday evening.
NXT’s next network exclusive will be No Mercy at the end of September but, before that, the best of the brand will be vying for a spot on Heatwave. Title opportunities are at stake for some whilst others look to move themselves up the ranks in NXT with this week’s episode. At present, there are four confirmed matches for WWE NXT, with several other segments expected to fill up the episode.

Wes Lee And Dijak Battle For NXT Title Contendership
Wes Lee has been eyeing the gold around Carmelo Hayes‘ waist and he finds himself closing in on an opportunity to attain the title but he has quite the hurdle to get past. Dijak has been in the main event scene since his return to NXT in the second half of 2022 but his attention has been directed at the NXT North American championship.
Lee and Dijak have had several matches in the past, for the NXT’s red championship and now, the two meet for an opportunity to challenge for the NXT Championship held by Hayes.
The Dyad Looks To Derail The Family’s Hype Train
The NXT Tag Team titles will be on the line as The Family defends the gold against The Dyad. The Family managed to capture the championships at The Great American Bash but The Dyad is looking to end the fun rather quickly. The Dyad wants to derail The Family’s hype train, as well as bring the gold to the Schism camp. This promises to be a hard-hitting affair as both tag teams hope to be the ones to walk away with the gold.
Dana Brooke Seeks Revenge Against Blair Davenport
Dana Brooke and Blair Davenport are set to meet in the ring for one-on-one action, which could be an explosive match. Last week, Davenport defeated Kelani Jordan and Brooke did not like that. This week, Brooke will be seeking revenge for Jordan as she goes up against Davenport.
The rivalry between Brooke and Davenport is a budding one that promises to entertain wrestling fans. Beyond the NXT Women’s championship, Brooke and Davenport could just continue this rivalry before it all comes to a boil with a stipulation that would enhance the violence.
Mustafa Ali Zones In On Dominik Mysterio
Mustafa Ali made it clear that he wants whoever would come out victorious in last week’s NXT North American Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee. The younger Mysterio came out on top and there is no doubt that Ali will have a confrontation with the champion.
Mysterio has been kept busy during his reign with challengers coming from all sides and now, Ali pushes himself to the forefront as the next threat to his reign. The two can be expected to have a confrontation and could decide on a date for the title challenge.
Trick Williams Looks To Build Momentum Against Drew Gulak
Trick Williams finds himself embroiled in a heated feud with Ilja Dragunov, which is set to come to a head soon. The two are set to meet at next week’s Heatwave event but, prior to that, Williams will go up against Drew Gulak in singles action. Gulak will not be a walk in the park for Williams but a win in this match could build up momentum for Williams as he prepares to go up against Dragunov next week.
