This Friday’s WWE SmackDown ramps up as we’re reaching the end of the road on the way to this year’s Survivor Series. This week, we will see the Undisputed WWE Champion confront his once trusted friend, who has now turned bitter enemy.
On top of that, the first Three-Way Dance in the 1st round of the WWE Women’s United States Championship Tournament will transpire. Like every Friday night, it promises to be an exciting one. With all that said, let’s get right into it.
It’s Friday night fight night! Here’s a preview of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Let’s run it down.
Announced for WWE SmackDown:
- Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Goes Face-To-Face With Kevin Owens
- Women’s United States Championship Tournament – 1st Round: Bianca Belair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Blair Davenport

The stage is set to crown the first-ever Women’s United States Championship this Friday night. Culminating at Saturday Night’s Main Event, a series of matches will happen until finally crown the inaugural champion for this new title.
Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green, and Blair Davenport—three superstars at very different career points—will kick off the proceedings this week. All three of these women have the chance to make history, and they will definitely give it their all to advance and join Bayley in the second round of this tourney.
Will Bianca Belair utilize her championship experience to the fullest? Or will Chelsea Green or Blair Davenport pull off the upset?
Putting the Prized Fighter In His Place
If you weren’t able to watch last week’s SmackDown, then you probably missed one of the most devastating things to happen all year in WWE. To punish Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens would deliver a Piledriver to Randy Orton, effectively putting him in the hospital.
Owens provides a reason for this. While still not justified, K.O. stated that he did it to send a message to Cody. Naturally, Rhodes blamed himself for this incident and began WWE SmackDown demanding for Owens’ head. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis informed him that Kevin was not in the building.
In addition, Owens might only be in a WWE-sanctioned event once this matter is resolved internally. Cody Rhodes took exception to that and pleaded his case to Aldis by asking him what he’d do if he were in the same position.
It seems Nick Aldis saw the light, setting up this confrontation between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. Folks, this will be different from a talk show where two people resolve their differences by talking. Expect nothing less but Cody Rhodes to get some form of revenge this coming Friday night.
How will Cody Rhodes react exactly? Will Kevin Owens even show up?
Let’s all find out this Friday night on WWE SmackDown, which will air live only on the USA Network!
