WWE Women’s United States Championship Unveiled on WWE SmackDown – Who Could Be Inaugural Champion?

On this week’s WWE SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis unveiled the WWE Women’s United States Championship. The WWE Universe has long clamored for a secondary title for the women’s division. The title will most likely be exclusive to the Blue Brand, with Aldis claiming that it needs to be “earned” and not “given.”

With that, who could be the first champion? We’ll quickly run through the WWE Friday Night SmackDown women’s division and give our thoughts on who should claim the crown.

Tiffany Stratton

It’s Tiffy Time! Yes, we know Tiffany Stratton is also Ms. Money in the Bank. However, she’s one of the best options to claim this title. Ever since her amazing run as NXT Women’s Champion, the spotlight has been on Stratton. When she debuted on the main roster, everyone was delighted because of how talented she was.

If they do not want to pull the trigger on a cash-in just yet and want to reserve it for a major event like WrestleMania 41 in Nevada, this could be the solution to keep her momentum going until then.

She will likely lose it quickly since WWE does not want a double champion on their hands.

Chelsea Green

The Chelsea Green “hype train” was massive at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, it may have stagnated a bit, but WWE can fix that. Putting the championship on Green could finally give her the breakthrough she needs to shatter the glass ceiling of an often touted “comedy act. ” While successful, everyone knows that she’s got more potential than that.

Bianca Belair / Jade Cargill

I’m going to bundle up the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions for this one. This duo will probably be breaking up sooner rather than later. Have the cracks started showing? No. But it’s easy to see that this is the way it’s going.

What would be really great is if WWE pitted these two against one another in the finals, assuming there’s a tournament—and there probably will be—and planted the seeds of descension then and there to kickstart this storyline.

A big Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, or SummerSlam bout between Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair will be a sight to behold, and if WWE wants to do this at some point, this could be the official start of that.

Who should claim the WWE Women’s United States Championship on WWE SmackDown? Let us know your thoughts!
