AEW Inks New Deal With Warner Bros. Discovery

After long negotiations, All Elite Wrestling is staying with the company that gave their flagship show, AEW Dynamite, a home, as well as their Friday and Saturday night shows, AEW Rampage and AEW Collision.

Still #AllElite on WBD

For five fantastic years, AEW has been a staple on the network, providing fans with an alternative for all their professional wrestling needs, much like World Championship Wrestling, or WCW, did in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The recent uncertainty about AEW’s future on the network had #AllElite fans on edge, but the network’s decision has brought a collective sigh of relief.

However, around the week of July 19th, 2024, X user @DrainBamager noticed that several international versions of the MAX app, specifically in Africa and France, among others, for a global test run ahead of the official launch, were now carrying full seasons of old episodes of AEW Dynamite and PPVs, including the recent 2024 iteration of Forbidden Door.

Apparently, this was indeed a sign that a deal had been struck.

Official Announcement

Per the All Elite Wrestling X account on October 2nd, 2024, a deal has been officially reached that states that AEW has signed a new multi-year, multi-platform media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.

As previously mentioned, the agreement extends AEW’s distribution rights on social media platforms and introduces the possibility of new programming on both linear and digital outlets.

Additionally, starting in 2025, AEW’s live pay-per-view events will be offered on MAX at a reduced price, with all marketing and promotional efforts solely focused on the MAX platform. On top of that, per sources from Variety, the deal is supposedly around the $150 million a year mark.

It’s a good day to be a professional wrestling fan. With the deal between AEW and WBD now official, fans will be able to enjoy on-demand old, new, and future episodes of All Elite Wrestling’s weekly programming, as well as its amazing pay-per-views.

What did you think of this news? What shows are you excited to watch on the MAX app moving forward?
