5 Reasons To Watch NXT's Premiere on The CW

WWE NXT prepares for its move to the CW on Tuesday, October 1. Over the first two weeks, NXT will be putting on some cannot-miss special episodes.

NXT‘s “CW Era” is a chance for a fresh start, and it all starts with these next two weeks. Here are the five reasons to tune in for NXT‘s premiere on the CW.

Star Appearances

The two-week premiere episodes of NXT on the CW are set to have several stars appearing. Of course, there will be the top Superstars from NXT but, with these being special episodes, some main roster talent is expected to also be in attendance.

For the first week, CM Punk, Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and The Miz are expected to be on the show. The second week has Randy Orton, Austin Theory, Grayson Waller, and rapper, Sexyy Red, slated to be featured.

In the second week, more major names could still be added, as that show will go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite. Regardless, one can expect to see a lot of big-time showstoppers across the two weeks.

NXTNA

“NXTNA” has been a major focus in 2024, bringing together the NXT and TNA brands. With the premiere episodes, it can be expected that the relationship between the two will continue to be showcased.

Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz are set to be in a street fight on week one. Beyond that, it would not shock many if there were more TNA stars on the shows.

MizTV on NXT

There is a special episode of MizTV set to take place on week one of the premiere. Whilst it is unknown who the guest(s) might be, the segment has been known to produce some of the most captivating moments.

This will surely be one of the most anticipated moments of the premiere, as no one really knows what The Miz might have up his sleeve.

High-Stakes NXT Championship Matches

The premiere episodes of NXT on the CW are set to feature some high-stakes championship matches. These are vital, as they could shake the foundation of NXT and tell us who the major players will be moving forward.

Roxanne Perez is set to defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia while Ethan Page will fend off Trick Williams for the NXT Championship. For the latter, Punk will be serving as the special guest referee.

Oba Femi will defend his NXT North American Championship against Tony D’Angelo. The other title match will see A-Town Down Under challenge Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

New Era for NXT

The top reason to tune in is because this is the beginning of a new era for NXT. The show has become the master of reinvention and improvement, and this is a chance to showcase that once more.

This is now being dubbed the “CW Era” and, coming off of one of their strongest runs, it can be expected that the best is yet to come. These two shows of the NXT on CW premiere will set the pace for how the show will be moving forward.
