It’s the dawn of a new era for WWE SmackDown as the Blue brand officially makes its USA Network debut! The show is stacked from top to bottom to commemorate this massive change, and there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that the WWE Universe, both at home and in the arena, will not end the night disappointed.

With all that said, let’s get right into it. Here’s a preview of the latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown! Let’s run it down.

Announced for WWE SmackDown:

  • Undisputed WWE Championship Match – Steel Cage: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa
  • Kevin Owens & ??? vs. A-Town Down Under
  • Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes (Part V: Series Tied 2-2)

Calling for Backup

On last week’s SmackDownKevin Owens essentially took A-Town Down Under on his own in a Triple Threat Match. While it was every man for himself, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory consistently ganged up on the former world champion throughout the match.

Unfortunately for them, KO was too much to handle, ending the match with an emphatic Stunner to Theory to claim the victory. Of course, the former WWE Tag Team Champions were not all too pleased with this development, beating down Owens right after the match’s conclusion.

On this week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Kevin will be out for revenge as he takes on A-Town Down under once again, only this time in a tag team match and with a partner who has yet to be named. Who does Kevin Owens have up his sleeve to combat Waller and Theory in this fight?

Rage in the Cage

This Friday night’s main event will feature a Steel Cage Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship, as well as the second meeting between the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, and the leader of The Bloodline and self-proclaimed ‘tribal chief’ Solo Sikoa.

Sikoa laid down the challenge a few weeks ago, and Rhodes did not waste any time responding to this call for battle. The two almost came to blows last week if SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis wasn’t around to call it off.

While Aldis did halt the war for the time being, he also made it official that Sikoa versus Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship will happen in the main event of this week’s show, on the debut of the Blue Brand on the USA Network, no less, inside an unforgiving steel cage.

Cody is a fighting champion, but he is not above playing mind games and tries to cause a rift between Solo Sikoa and the ‘Samoan Werewolf’ Jacob Fatu. Solo immediately spotted this and put an end to it. The championship match will happen in a cage. However, it’s not unlikely that Solo Sikoa will be going into that structure with a few big thoughts in mind.

Regardless, it’s going to be one heck of a main event on WWE SmackDown. It’s Rhodes/Sikoa II for all the marbles! Who will come out on top?

See it all unfold this Friday night, only on the USA Network!
