AFC Bournemouth has announced a “ground-breaking collaboration” with the WWE 2K video game series. Taking to X, the Premier League football club announced the partnership and provided more details in an official press release.
They have stated that there will be “several digital campaigns that will entertain fans and showcase the immersive experience of WWE 2K24.”

Rob Mitchell, Commercial Director of AFC Bournemouth, said the following in reference to the partnership:
“Partnering with WWE 2K is a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with our supporters in a new and innovative way. This collaboration will combine the thrill of WWE 2K’s gameplay, with the dynamic world of Premier League football.”
It’s unclear exactly what this partnership will involve moving forward, but there has already been speculation online as to what it may entail. Could we see AFC Bournemouth players featured in WWE 2K games in the future, or perhaps even assign the club’s kits to characters within the game?
According to both AFC Bournemouth and 2K Games, “the themed content will be available in the coming weeks”.
Bryce Yang, the Senior Director of Franchise and Partnerships Strategy at 2K, also weighed in on the collaboration:
“WWE 2K and AFC Bournemouth make a formidable tag team in the ring and on the pitch. We’re thrilled to partner with the Cherries and wish them great success this season. Together, anything is possible!”
It’ll be interesting to see what the response is to any potential AFC Bournemouth players featuring in DLC packs, given the negativity behind the recently released Pat McAfee pack. Despite this being the first partnership of its nature, WWE has done plenty of work with the reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City.
WWE fans and AFC Bournemouth supporters will have to stay tuned to the respective social media channels of both to find more details as and when they’re revealed.
