Coming off of a win at SummerSlam 2024, Nia Jax is now the WWE Women’s Champion. Who will be the first few people to challenge The Irresistible Force?
Jax made her return on Monday Night Raw (09/11/2023), attacking Raquel Rodriguez and the Women’s World Champion at the time, Rhea Ripley. Since then, she has made it hard for her to be ignored, eventually leading her to win the Queen of the Ring Tournament and the WWE Women’s Championship in under a year.
Jax already defeated big names on the roster in The Queen of the Ring tournament to earn her opportunity at the title. She defeated Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Lyra Valkyria, then ultimately defeating Bayley at SummerSlam 2024 for the WWE Women’s Championship.
Now that Nia Jax is the champion, who will be brave enough to challenge The Irresistible Force?
Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill is arguably one of the most physically fit women in the WWE. She has made her name known in the company through her strength and athleticism, consistently capturing the eye of observers.
Cargill would make a perfect opponent for Jax. The match would be an actual test of power between the women. Jax is not known as The Irresistible Force for no reason. She annihilates her opponents with size and strength, showing her insane power.
However, Cargill seems like the perfect challenger, as her strength is comparable to Jax’s. Her physique and athleticism are insane; she looks like she has been carved out of stone. Could Cargill be the one to dethrone Jax? Although Cargill is currently tagging with Bianca Belair, she is destined to have a singles run in WWE.
Timing is everything in this business; with Cargill making her name known, it is hard to see her losing her first women’s championship match, no matter who it is against. She is popular among the audience and in the wrestling industry. Undoubtedly, it will shake up the women’s roster whenever she becomes women’s champion, but a match between Cargill and Jax will never disappoint.
Naomi
After approximately two years, Naomi returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble 2024 Premium Live Event. Since her return, she has had one title opportunity against Bayley on Smackdown (04/10/2024). Even though she did have a championship opportunity, Tiffany Stratton ruined it. Stratton attacked Bayley, causing a disqualification.
Because of this, she has been due for another title opportunity, but the same outcome may occur as long as Stratton is by Jax’s side.
The feud between these two would be interesting because the company could go anywhere with its storyline. Considering they are family by marriage, they could bring family ties into the story, making it very personal. Stories that get personal intrigue the audience more, as they anticipate a big fight.
The clash between Naomi’s athleticism and Jax’s power will be a sight to see.
Chelsea Green
Even though she has not been given much opportunity to become champion, Chelsea Green quickly became a fan favorite. Her charisma shines not only in her promos but also in her matches. And yet, she is one of the most underrated women on the WWE roster.
She’s been overlooked due to other prominent names in the business and not being involved in many main stories. Because of her humor and charisma, her character has become more comedic than serious, which is good until the company begins using one as a comedy segment.
Despite quickly becoming a fan favorite, Green consistently loses matches. According to Sportster, Chelsea Green has a win-loss record of 37-82 in her entire career in WWE.
At Money in the Bank 2024, Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton were the two favorites going into the Money in the Bank match. Despite her win-loss record, it was shocking how many people were rooting for Green. Although, once again, Green fell short.
Because of the favoritism she has from the fans, it would be a perfect time for Green to get a Women’s Championship opportunity. She has shown her skills in the ring and dedication to the industry through her years of working with the company. If given more television time, I wouldn’t be surprised if the fans began to rally for her as they did previously for Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan.
Tiffany Stratton
Ms. Money in the Bank, Tiffany Stratton, must be on this list, considering she can challenge for the championship whenever she wants. At the same time, she is best friends with Nia Jax; friendships only last so long in this company because everyone wants to be on top.
Stratton already teased cashing in at SummerSlam 2024 but ended up helping Jax retain her title. It is played off as if Stratton planned to come out to help Jax win and distract Bayley, but if the opportunity was right, would she have cashed in?
Since Stratton is on Smackdown with Nia Jax, she is always around and can be right there whenever she needs to cash in. Not only does she have the upper hand with the money in the bank briefcase, but now she knows her “friend’s” strengths and weaknesses. Will Stratton use this to her advantage?
Whether this friendship is just a way for Stratton to get close to the championship can be questioned. She’s an intelligent girl. Is she just getting close to the enemy and waiting for her moment to capitalize?
