According to Fightful Select, sources in RevPro claim both Michael Oku & Amira are close to joining AEW and are expected to soon.
No deal has been signed yet, but AEW sources said they wouldn’t be surprised to see them end up on the AEW UK shows.
This comes after fans speculated he was waving goodbye to York Hall last Sunday following his loss to MJF and now this appears to have been the case.
Oku is still the RevPro British Heavyweight Champion and has one more confirmed date in the UK where he is set to defend the title against Luke Jacobs at RevPro’s 12th Anniversary Show on All In weekend later this month.
While not reported, it seems the clear route from here is for Oku to drop the title ahead of the move.
The Brit could potentially be the next to face Will Ospreay on arrival with a tailed history between the pair. Oku faced Ospreay in his final RevPro match before he joined AEW, and now he looks set to follow in his footsteps.
He hinted at the move after his match against Ospreay in an interview with Stephanie Chase where he stated “there’s been contact made, which obviously makes sense. I wrestled Will earlier in the year in front of Tony Khan.
I got to meet Tony Khan and have a conversation with him there at the venue as it happened” and now it looks like those talks have finally come to fruition and Oku will sign with company shortly.
