#AndNEW: WWE SummerSlam 2024 Crowns THREE NEW Champions

A photo of Nia Jax winning the WWE Women's Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2024.

The 2024 edition of WWE SummerSlam was a thrill ride from start to finish. We saw CM Punk come back from injury to fight Drew McIntyreDominik Mysterio betrayed his “Mami” Rhea Ripley to help Liv Morgan retain the WWE Women’s World Championship. And, of course, there were THREE major title changes. Let’s run down these monumental changes in quick succession.

The Megastar Becomes United States Champion

After years of consistency and creating fantastic moments, LA Knight has finally reached the mountaintop by defeating hometown boy Logan Paul to claim the United States Championship. Knight almost didn’t pick up the W as Pop punk giant Machine Gun Kelly handed Paul a knuckleduster to hit LA with.

Fortunately, Knight recovered and overcame the odds to hit a BFT for the win. As mentioned, this LA Knight’s first title victory in the promotion, the first of inevitably many.

Bron Breaks Sami Zayn

With his father Rick Steiner, uncle Scott Steiner, and WCW legend Diamond Dallas Page in attendance, Bron Breakker has finally shattered the glass ceiling by destroying Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Championship. This was his second attempt after failing to nab the hardware at Money in the Bank.

On the arguably the second biggest night of professional wrestling, Breakker would not be denied hitting a devastating Spear to close out the match and get the gold around his waist. Like LA Knight, this is Bron’s first title win since moving to what most call as the “main roster.”

The Queen Reigns Supreme

Nia Jax has been on absolute roll as of late. Since returning to WWE in 2023. Jax has been a force to be reckoned with. On SummerSlam Saturday night, Jax ended one of the best reigns of the year by defeating Bayley to claim the WWE Women’s Championship. This was undoubtedly one of the best matches of the night.

It was “David vs. Goliath.” Unfortunately for Bayley, Goliath won this round. This Jax’s second Women’s World Title reign, along with her Queen of the Ring victory earlier this year and a couple of WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship victories.
