Solo Sikoa Looks to Dethrone Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes has crossed his first 100 days as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion but, at SummerSlam, he faces his toughest challenge yet. This version of Solo Sikoa, backed by The Bloodline 2.0, is a different level of threat for Rhodes.
Upon winning the title from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes might have thought his days of dealing with The Bloodline were over. But that was so far from the truth, as the worst was yet to come.
Coming off of the aforementioned WrestleMania, Sikoa took advantage of Reigns’ absence and appointed himself the new Tribal Chief. To solidify his position, he acquired Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu to be part of his stable.
In previous months, Rhodes has had assistance from Kevin Owens and Randy Orton in dealing with this Bloodline. But, at SummerSlam, Rhodes and Sikoa are set to meet in one-on-one action, and the gold will be on the line.
It can be expected that Sikoa will have a trick or two up his sleeve, as he tries to assert his dominance by claiming the top title in the promotion. Rhodes has been known to be crafty and, as seen at WrestleMania this year, there are also several other Superstars who want to see Rhodes at the top – and they could also play a role in maintaining that.
King and Queen of the Ring Look To Trade Crowns For Titles
Liv Morgan And Rhea Ripley Fight For More Than Gold
Morgan won the Women’s World Championship at King and Queen of the Ring, and this was part of her “Liv Morgan Revenge Tour.” With Ripley out of the way due to injury, Morgan began to move into Mami’s territory and began making a play for Mysterio.
This was all thwarted by the return of Ripley on the July 8 edition of Raw. Since then, Ripley has reclaimed Mysterio, and now she looks to regain the Women’s World Championship that she never lost.
Although the Women’s World Championship is what is on the line at SummerSlam, it feels like more than just that is up for the two Superstars to lose. With Mysterio firmly by Ripley’s side, Morgan will be looking to do all that she can to keep the gold.
The question is: Will Ripley be happy with just Mysterio if she does not get the gold? More than that, what is Morgan willing to do to keep the title?
We might just find out the answers to this at SummerSlam.
Seth Rollins Facilitates CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s Clash
The feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has been building for months. At SummerSlam, the pair finally get to meet in the ring and – as if this couldn’t be any more heated – an interesting factor has been thrown into the bout.
Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins has been made the special guest referee for this bout (and we’ve already gotten one iconic outfit from it!). With Rollins having long-standing issues with both Punk and McIntyre, he can be expected to be impartial… Or he could just choose to screw both of them.
On the July 29 edition of Raw, Rollins, Punk, and McIntyre had an in-ring segment where they addressed each other. This only elevated this match and made it a must-see bout, as it will be interesting to see how the trio engage each other during the match.
It will be interesting to see how much control Rollins will be able to have, as well as how much damage Punk and McIntyre manage to inflict on each other. One thing that is for sure is that this feud is just beginning at SummerSlam.
