WWE SummerSlam is the day after. However, this week’s WWE SmackDown is still set to pull out all the stops ahead of the “Biggest Party of the Summer.” There’s a lot in store for the WWE Universe, with two championship matches on the books and the homecoming of ‘The Maverick.’

It will be an action-packed weekend filled with exciting professional wrestling and sports entertainment. Let’s not keep anyone waiting any longer. Here is the SummerSlam ‘go-home’ edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Let’s run it down.

Announced for WWE SmackDown:

  • WWE Tag Team Championship Match: #DIY (c) vs. Tama Tonga & Jacob Fatu
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill
  • United States Champion Logan Paul’s Homecoming to Cleveland

Back in the Land

Logan Paul has had a massively impressive run as United States Champion. Since winning it from the legendary Rey Mysterio at last year’s Crown Jewel, Paul has defeated future Hall of Famers The MizRandy Orton, and Kevin Owens. His time with the title clocks in at almost 300 days at the time of writing.

On this Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam, Logan Paul is set to go to battle with the ‘Megastar’ LA Knight (Yeah!). But before that monumental encounter, Logan comes back home to Cleveland, Ohio. What does the hometown boy have to say to this home state? And also, what does he have to say after his heinous attack on his challenger on last week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown?

The Wolves Hunt for Gold

Only three weeks ago, #DIY achieved the pinnacle of tag team wrestling as they secured the WWE Tag Team Championships over A-Town Down Under in Toronto, Canada.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa fought tooth and nail to get to where they are, coming up from WWE NXT and facing growing pains on both WWE Raw and SmackDown. The hard work finally paid off as Gargano and Ciampa now hold the gold that eluded them for a long time. Unfortunately, it may be a reign shorter than they expected.

After running the gauntlet on last week’s SmackDown, The Bloodline monsters Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu are the top contenders for #DIY’s championship.

Tonga and Fatu ran through the competition with such devastating force on last week’s SmackDown that many WWE Universe members are concerned about the champions’ chances of retaining this week.

While Johnny and Tommaso are some of the best to do it, Jacob and Tama are a formidable duo that strikes fear in the hearts of foes with just one stare. That said, the two former NXT Champions will stop at absolutely nothing and will die trying to keep the hardware around their waist.

Once that bell rings, it’ll be a total war. It’s #DIY versus The Bloodline, and it all goes down this Friday night only on Fox!
