Preview: WWE NXT (7/16/24) - Oba Femi Defends Gold

This week’s episode of WWE NXT is a stacked one that wrestling fans will not want to miss. With the NXT No Mercy and Halloween Havoc PLEs set for later this year, there is so much for the Superstars to work towards.

There will be an NXT title defense, two six-person matches, as well as singles action to tune in for. With the way that NXT has been going these last few weeks, it can be expected that this will be yet another banger.

Here is all you need to know ahead of the July 16 NXT.

WWE NXT Full Match Card:

  • NXT North American Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Duke Hudson
  • Six-Man Tag Team Match: Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs. The Rascalz (Wes Lee, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)
  • Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match: The OC (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & Michin) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima, Lucien Price & Jaida Parker)
  • Singles Match: Brooks Jensen vs. Je’Von Evans
  • Singles Match: Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame

Oba Femi Defends Gold Against Duke Hudson

Oba Femi is officially the third longest-reigning NXT North American Champion. Having passed 189 days, Femi continues his dominance in NXT, and he does so with the gold.

Chase U‘s Duke Hudson will challenge for the championship on the July 16 edition of NXT. This is not the first person to attempt to dethrone the champion (and it certainly won’t be the last) but Hudson hopes to bring gold back to the Chase U camp.

This will be an intriguing clash of styles and will surely provide an exciting clash for wrestling fans.

NXTNA Comes Alive With Six-Man Tag Action

Wes Lee got a surprise on the July 9 edition of NXT when he was joined by TNA‘s Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz. The trio was a team previously as The Rascalz but, after finding themselves in different promotions, they were separated.
With the trio reuniting, they will get the opportunity to tag together once more. They do so against Gallus‘ Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang.

The OC Clashes With OTM

For weeks on end, Jaida Parker and Michin have been at each other’s necks. So much so, that their respective teams – OTM and The OC – have become involved.
This all culminates with a six-person mixed tag team match, which pits Parker, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price against Michin, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. This could resolve a major feud or it could just add a completely new layer to it.
