Preview: WWE SmackDown (7/19/24) – The “Mavericks” Returns to Answer the ‘Megastar’s’ Call

A WWE SmackDown graphic featuring Logan Paul, Andrade, and Carmelo Hayes.

This week’s WWE SmackDown will hail from Omaha, Nebraska and it seems like the WWE Universe will have another inspired effort courtesy of the promotion’s Friday night Blue brands.

On the latest iteration of Friday night fight night, we will see the “The Maverick” respond to the “Megastar’s” challenge. Also, we’ll see two of the absolute “speed demons” of WWE collide this week.

If you thought last week was wild, this new episode promises another great installment in many amazing shows. With all that said, let’s get right into it.

Here’s a preview of WWE Friday Night SmackDown! Let’s run it down.

Announced for WWE SmackDown:

  • United States Champion Logan Paul Will Appear Live on WWE SmackDown to Answer LA Knight’s Challenge for SummerSlam
  • Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes

A Summer Clash, Yeah?

For months now, LA Knight has been gunning for the WWE United States Championship, which is held by Logan Paul. The champion has held the gold for eight months up to this point, and some feel it’s time for his reign to end.

Fortunately, for Knight, WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis deemed him worthy enough to get a shot at the gold at this year’s SummerSlam,

On last week’s SmackDown, LA Knight signed the contract. Done deal, right? Unfortunately, Logan has yet to put his signature on the dotted line officially. In Omaha, Paul will appear to address this challenge and will either make it official or make it much harder for the ‘Megastar.’

How will the reigning and defending U.S. Champ respond to this huge challenge?

Break-Neck Pace

Since being drafted to SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes has been working relentlessly to prove himself to everyone. He’s had matches with the likes of Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and future hall-of-famers Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

Each time out, Melo has been nothing short of spectacular in these bouts, regardless if he’s at the end of a victory or loss. This Friday night, his might well be tested as he faces off against WWE Speed Champion Andrade.

The former United States Champion has been on an absolute tear since returning to the promotion back at the Royal Rumble. He’s proven why he’s one of the best the business has to offer.

Both men have been riding a great wave of momentum. Sadly, one of these immense streaks will meet their end.

Will Andrade use his veteran knowledge to outsmart and defeat the new up-and-comer? Or will Carmelo Hayes get another impressive win over one of WWE’s most talented performers?

Find out this Friday night, and a lot more! Catch everything that goes down on WWE SmackDown only on Fox!
