WWE Announces Stephanie Vaquer’s Shock Debut Set for This Weekend in Mexico

Stephanie Vaquer is set to make her debut this weekend at WWE Supershow live events in Mexico.

WWE’s latest pickup, Stephanie Vaquer, is set to debut this weekend after her shock signing over the last few days. She’ll be appearing in Mexico City on Saturday, July 13, and in Monterrey on Sunday, July 14.

This debut marks an incredibly quick turnaround for Vaquer from company to company, her final appearances only concluding as recently as Wednesday this week.

The former CMLL Women’s Champion was hastily stripped of all her titles and pulled from several scheduled appearances, including dates with NJPW and various indie promotions, just days before the events.

Reports indicate that multiple promotions are “very upset” with WWE over how things were handled.

While AEW was reportedly interested in signing Vaquer, a recent report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reveals that she never seriously considered joining AEW. Meltzer wrote:

“Several sources close to the situation said that she didn’t seriously consider AEW. As someone who grew up watching WWE on television in Chile, that was her goal. In 2018, she got a tryout in Chile, but WWE decided against signing her. That was a long time ago and wrestling on the Chilean scene is a long way from the wrestler she is now having worked major matches throughout the world.”

WWE released this statement earlier today:
