Drew McIntyre Wins Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Drew McIntyre Wins Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Drew McIntyre is the new Mr. Money in the Bank! WWE kicked off the Money in the Bank premium live event at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto with the men’s ladder match.

This year’s match consisted of McIntyre, Jey Uso, Carmelo Hayes, Andrade, Chad Gable, and LA Knight. The Scottish Warrior earned his spot in the match on Raw against Sheamus and Ilja Dragunov in the main event.

With 16 minutes given, the Superstars gave a good performance. Gable almost had the match won when Uso stole the ladder from right under him.

Left dangling, Gable was unable to unhook the briefcase and fell face-first to the mat. Uso then speared Gable and climbed up the ladder himself, only for McIntyre to throw a ladder at him and effectively knock him off.

With the ring cleared, the Scottish Warrior retrieved the briefcase and became the new Mr. Money in the Bank.

McIntyre’s History With Money in the Bank

McIntyre is no stranger to Money in the Bank ladder matches. Tonight marked his seventh time competing but first time winning.

McIntyre made his debut in the match at the 2010 event, coming up short against Kane.

Last year’s Money in the Bank winner, Damian Priest, cashed in on McIntyre at WrestleMania XL to become the World Heavyweight Champion. This came moments after he conquered Seth Rollins to win the title.

Now that McIntyre holds the briefcase and Priest is the champion, will karma come back around?

Will He Cash In Tonight?

Yesterday at the Kickoff Show, McIntyre made his intentions with the briefcase pretty clear:

“When I win, I’m cashing in [at Money in the Bank.] I’m going to leave as world champion, and you’re all going to know what I already know, that Drew McIntyre is the best there is, soon to be the best there was, when it’s all said and done, I will be the best there ever will be.”

Will McIntyre cash in tonight, and if so, will CM Punk ruin his moment?
