A match graphic hyping the appearance of CM Punk on WWE SmackDown.

It’s the first WWE SmackDown after Clash at the Castle: Scotland, and there are loads in store for the WWE Universe. The “Megastar” and ‘Maverick’ come face to face this Friday night. Qualifiers for the Money in the Bank match continue. Plus, the ‘Best in the World’ appears in front of his loyal hometown crowd.

There’s a lot more waiting your way on this edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. So, without further ado, let’s preview the latest edition of everybody’s favorite weekly Friday night sports entertainment show. Let’s run it down.

Announced for WWE SmackDown:

  • CM Punk Appears Live on WWE SmackDown
  • LA Knight and Logan Paul Make an Appearance
  • Money in the Bank – Qualifying Match: Randy Orton vs. Tama Tonga vs. Carmelo Hayes

Cashing In

The then, now, and future of WWE is on full display with this monumental Triple Threat Match to determine who advances to the Money in the Bank ladder match. It’s the legendary Randy Orton taking on a familiar foe in Tama Tongaand the fastest-rising star in all of sports entertainment, Carmelo Hayes.

Orton has competed in several Money in the Bank matches, even winning one and cashing in his opportunity successfully. So, he knows what it takes to qualify, let alone win the whole shebang. For his opponents, Tama Tonga wants to restore the honor of The Bloodline line, and having a title opportunity could be a great way to kickstart those plans.

Hayes was drafted in the first round of the WWE Draft, meaning expectations were already high before he laced up a pair of boots for the Blue brand. Carmelo wants to prove that he can hang and, most importantly, get his hands on a guaranteed shot at any World Championship he wants.

Who will walk away one step closer to a guaranteed shot at one of the richest prizes in all of professional wrestling?

The ‘Second City Saint’ Is Back in Chicago

After costing Drew McIntyre the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in Scotland, CM Punk will speak for the first time this Friday night on WWE SmackDown. At the media scrum post-Clash at the Castle, it seemed like Punk did not regret his actions at all.

The former multiple-time World Champion felt McIntyre got his after the ‘Scottish’ Psychopath’ caused him a trip to WrestleMania XL. Apart from speaking his mind regarding what went down during the WWE World Title Match, Punk kind of let the cat out of the bag.

Doctors have cleared him for referee duties. However, he may be cleared for more than just donning the Zebra stripes. Will CM Punk finally have the good news that everyone has been hoping for since he got injured at this year’s Royal Rumble?

You will have to tune in during this week’s WWE SmackDown to find out! Watch it only on Fox!
