NWA Powerrr Recap (6/11/24)

Another week, another action-packed episode of NWA Powerrr on the CW. The Crockett Cup is set and the teams are gearing up for the showdown in Dallas.

Crockett Cup Play-In and The Ella Envy Era

Cheese and Mike Orlando opened the action against The Spectaculars. Brady Pierce and Slade are new as a tag team this year, but this is the second time the Spectaculars have been in the tournament.

Pierce and Slade would maintain control for most of the match. “The Green Machine” Mike Orlando would make a comeback and lead to one of the “cheesiest” spots in wrestling.

Cheese would throw sliced cheese at Pierce causing him to slip, leading to Cheese securing the victory and a shot at Blunt Force Trauma, the NWA Tag Champs.

Ella Envy and La Rosa Negra would join Kyle Davis after the match for a promo. Ella would announce that the Pretty Era was over and we were now living in the Ella Era. La Rosa Negra would make her presence known in both the singles and women’s tag division, telling Ella and company that she wasn’t here to make friends.

The Miserably Faithful and a Message from Vampiro

The Miserably Faithful going against The Fixers was the next matchup. Judais and Max the Impaler are always fun to watch.

Max is the reigning TV champion in both the women’s and men’s divisions. Defending both titles in both divisions.

With Father James Mitchell at ringside, the Faithful had the numbers advantage. After a match filled with high-power offense inside and out of the ring, Judais hit a massive chokeslam to secure the victory and progress in the Crockett Cup.

Father James Mitchell would say following the match that the Miserably Faithful have a destiny to fulfill.

Vampiro and his cast of characters were next with Kyle. Vampiro would explain that what he and his team were doing was from another dimension. “This” is bigger than the NWA.

Daisy Kills and Talos would chime in with a song. On a ukulele, Kills would sing a melody asking for Vampiro to join in the song. Simply put, Vampiro threatened their entire families for such an action.

The Main Event

Blunt Force Trauma, the tag champs secured the #1 seed in the cup already by holding the titles. They would face off against the team of Cheese and Mike Orlando after their win in the play-in match earlier in the episode.

This match was essentially a squash match. Cheese and the Green Machine got limited offense in, as one would expect the #16 ranked tag team too.

After a combination sidewalk slam and elbow drop, BFT would end the Cinderella story of Cheese and Mike Orlando.
