The belt collector of women’s lucha libre debuted tonight on AEW Dynamite. Stephanie Vaquer has a long career in Mexico and South America. After a few short years in NJPW she has started collecting gold there as well. After setting her sights on Mercedes Mone, Vaquer wants four titles on three continents.

Let’s get the who, what, where, why and when of the female belt collector.

The Who

Stephanie Vaquer is a Chilean-born wrestler. The 31-year-old veteran has 15 years of experience across multiple continents. Trained by fellow Chilean wrestler Paul Slandering, Vaquer made her professional debut at 16 years old for Maximo Combate de Lucha in Chile.

After running roughshod through the South American Independents, Vaquer would debut for CMLL in 2019. During that time she would also debut for some American independents. In 2023, Stephanie would debut in New Japan Pro Wrestling for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Division.

Throughout her career she has had top feuds with talent such as AZM, Mayu Iwatani and Giulia

The What and The Where

Stephanie Vaquer currently holds three titles for two promotions. She is looking to make it four in three.

She won her first of the three titles on September 16. Vaquer and tag team partner, Zeuxis defeated Las Chiacas Indomables for the CMLL Women’s Tag Team Titles. She would go on to win the CMLL Women’s World title 13 days later from La Catalina

Vaquer would claim gold in NJPW on March 10, by defeating Giulia in her swan song before leaving for WWE. Vaquer has worked in 12 promotions in 2024 to date. She wrestled former indy darling Kylie Rae in Chicago earlier in May. She also has a victory over former AEW women’s champion Riho

The Why and The When

Tonight on AEW Dynamite ahead of Forbidden Door, Vaquer debuted on TBS. She immediately set her eyes on Mercedes Mone and her newly won TBS title. This will actually be the second time these two have met in the squared circle. They met in the original semi-finals during the tournament to crown the inaugural Strong Women’s Title.

The match being set up and the video packages shown tonight, further bolster the working relationship between CMLL/AEW/NJPW. With Stephanie Vaquer, Mercedes Mone, Willow Nightingale and Toni Storm, amongst the other wrestlers on the roster. Forbidden Door is already shaping up to be a historic show with at least three promotions being on the card.
