Potential Cody Rhodes Managerial Partners in WWE

A photo from WWE WrestleMania XL featuring Cody Rhodes and his manager and wife Brandi Rhodes.

The American Nightmares’ journey as champion has just begun, but it looks like a change will be on the horizon. Recently, Cody Rhodes gave an interview stating that he missed having a classic manager. It was an interesting comment that immediately got the wheels spinning.

Who would be the best one to take up the cause with Cody Rhodes? He had oodles of history in the business and has made connections with some of the greats. Which of these men or women would be best to lead Rhodes? Let’s take a look at some candidates below.

Brandi Rhodes

We can start with the low-hanging fruit. Cody’s wife Brandi has been a valet for him in the past. She has chemistry with Rhodes and presents great arm candy.

Brandi is also one of the most capable women in wrestling. She can tangle with the best of them and has no problem getting physically involved. Rhodes would be able to have some great mixed tag-matches to help further the program.

The two have been seen on television together as recently as WrestleMania, so it would make sense to put the couple on-screen.

Dustin Rhodes

We aren’t going to hit every Rhodes family member, but how cool would it be to have the brothers back together again? Cody and Dustin Rhodes have been put together in AEW and past WWE, so why not hit the bell a third time?

Cody and Dustin have been great together everywhere. The two share a natural connection and have produced incredible moments with both companies. Putting them together during a world title reign would be a great thing. Dustin could dust it up with other factions on the way to assisting his brother.

Jim Cornette

This could be wishful thinking, but why not have Corny come back up north? He did leave the company on bad terms, but most of those people have left the company. There wouldn’t be as much animosity as there has been in the past. It could be the right time to have him make his return.

Cornette is as old school as they come. He worked closely with Dusty Rhodes in NWA, so he has a great connection with Rhodes. He would be an amazing mouthpiece, as he has kept a step. He has the silver tongue that he has always had and would be able to work great promos opposite the best of this era.

William Regal

Regal is one of the all-time greats. He was massively underrated as a performer both in the ring and on the microphone. When he hung up his tights he transitioned perfectly into an authority figure role. He was the best General Manager that NXT has ever had, with his utterance of War Games being a yearly favorite.

He has already spent time as a manager/mentor in AEW. The Blackpool Combat Club was a star-studded group that Regal expertly led. He fits the role well with his no-nonsense attitude. This gimmick would be great opposite Rhodes. It would be one the fans would love and one that could lead to some fantastic moments.

Diamond Dallas Page

Diamond Dallas Page is another man who has some great routes going back to Cody Rhodes. Page was great in WCW and built a great relationship with Dusty Rhodes. Page has credited Rhodes with his success in the business and it would be cool to see him help his son reach another level.

DDP is already on a Legends contract with WWE and has made sporadic appearances. When Rhodes won this year’s Royal Rumble. DDP was seen embracing the youngest Rhodes at the entrance. There is a behind-the-scenes connection between the two men and it would be cool to see them together. Both are charismatic and DDP would be able to get in the ring, if necessary.
