#AndNEW: Damian Priest Cashes Money in the Bank at WWE WrestleMania XL

A photo of Damian Priest at WWE WrestleMania XL.

In a shocking turn of events, one night after losing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, Damian Priest cashed Money in the Bank to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This came off the back of Drew McIntyre winning the title just minutes prior from Seth Rollins.

The match between Rollins and McIntyre was a hard-hitting and fast affair from start to finish. Both men pulled out all the stops on their way to a classic WrestleMania XL opener. With one more Claymore Kick, McIntyre would secure the title for the third time.

McIntyre would prance around and get in the face of CM Punk on commentary instead of focusing on his win. Punk took exception to this and proceeded to beat down the new champion. The “Best in the World” would take off his brace and hit Drew in the head hard, knocking down the “Scottish Warrior.”

Then, the music would hit its Priest running full speed into the WrestleMania XL ring with his Money in the Bank briefcase in hand. With one more vicious briefcase hit to the temple, Damian would make it crystal clear that he was cashing in his opportunity.

After one South of Heaven, Damian Priest became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. It took almost a year for Priest to get to this point, and his patience paid off big-time. This is Priest’s first World Championship win in WWE.
