Preview: AEW Rampage (12/15/23) – The Von Erichs Compete at Winter is Coming

For the third year in a row, All Elite Wrestling visits Northern Texas for their annual Winter Is Coming episode of AEW Rampage. This year, they switched the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland to the College Park Center in Arlington.

Both are relatively close, though it is usually the other way around for the use of these arenas. The Curtis Culwell Center is being used for Ring Of Honor’s Final Battle and AEW Collision instead.

While College Park Center is where Final Battle took place last year. It would sadly be the last time we would see Jay Briscoe on a large televised event before his untimely passing. He and his brother Mark Briscoe took on and defeated FTR in a Double Dog Collar match to win their final ROH World Tag Team titles.

The Von Erichs Are Back In Town

In just a couple of weeks, The Iron Claw will premiere in theaters. And with AEW being in Texas, they brought in The Von Erich Family. The team of Ross and Marshall Von Erich, sons of Kevin Von Erich, are former MLW World Tag Team Champions.

They have appeared previously for TNA Wrestling back in 2014 as well. Tonight, they team with the AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy for a Trios match.

They face the former Jericho Appreciation Society members Jake Hager, “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, and “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker.

The real question here is if we will see Ross, Marshall, and father Kevin execute The Claw at some point in the match. And can Jake Hager recover his purple bucket hat?

Lucha Trios Match

A couple of weeks ago, Dante Martin made his return to the ring following a broken leg. He alongside brother Darius Martin and Action Andretti won a Trios match and backstage, they were met by Penta El Zero Miedo, AAA Cruiserweight Champion Komander, and AAA Mega Champion El Hijo de Vikingo.

Who challenged them to a Trios match? That match is set for tonight. And given the people involved, expect high-flying craziness. All six participants are well known for their high-flying abilities.

Who Stirs Who?

With Cool Hand Ang, Daddy Magic, and Jake Hager already on the card, Anna Jay will also find herself on the card. She will take on Red Velvet.

And very surprisingly, despite the two being with AEW for so long, they’ve never met in a match under any capacity. This will be their first time facing off in their 4 years working for the same company. Both women have been struggling for momentum as of late. Who can take a step forward this time?

Finally, Powerhouse Hobbs and Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family will see action as well. All that and more on tonight’s Winter Is Coming edition of AEW Rampage.
