Wrestling Legends, WWE & AEW Stars Turn Out For “The Iron Claw” Premiere: Their Roles Explained

MHollywood movie stars, wrestling legends, and talent from both WWE and AEW mingled at the premiere of the upcoming The Iron Claw movie. 

Many of them will be starring in the movie about the Von Erich Family, or have roles behind the scenes of the flick. Here, we explain who was at the glittering Hollywood bash and what roles they have in the movie.

AEW & WWE Champions Collide 

AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF and 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena posed together on the red carpet in Hollywood. Cena also posed with the film’s star Zach Efron.

Efron will play Kevin Von Erich in the movie about the tragic story of the Von Erichs. MJF plays Lance Von Erich, a role expected to be quite short. 

Kevin Von Erich posed with multiple stars during the premier which was also attended by his niece former TNA wrestler Lacey Von Erich.

The Iron Claw Stunt Coordinator Chavo 

Chavo Guerrero Jr. was also at the premiere. He will play The Shiek in the movie but also worked as the Wrestling Stunt Coordinator. This is a similar role that Guerrero Jr. oversaw on GLOW. 

Guerrero Jr. was responsible for training Efron and the other actors to learn to wrestle for their scenes in the movie. The Shiek wrestled Fritz Von Erich, the patriarch of the family in the 1970s.

Therefore, Guerrero Jr’s onscreen role could be minor and will probably be part of Fritz’s establishing scenes or anecdotes. 

AEW & WWE Wrestlers Mingle 

WWE’s Liv Morgan mingled with AEW’s CJ Perry and MJF at the movie launch. Baron Corbin, Taya Valkyrie, and John Hennigan aka John Morrison were also on the red carpet.

AEW’s Ryan Nemeth was also seen at the event at DGA Theaters Complex in LA, California. Nemeth will play Gino Hernandez in The Iron Claw.
