Winter is Coming to AEW Dynamite and brought an awesome night of action with it. Ruby Soho will face off with the returning first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion Riho in what will be a standout match. Roderick Strong will be in action as he faces off with “Hangman” ADAAAAAAM Page. We’ll have three fantastic Continental Classic matches to look forward to. Rush will face the winless Jay Lethal in a clash of former ROH Champions. Speaking of winless, Mark Briscoe seeks to pick up his first in the Continental Classic as he faces off with “Switchblade” Jay White.
We will also see a clash between two men who are undefeated so far in the inaugural round-robin style tournament in Swerve Strickland and Jon Moxley. We’ll also hear from Samoa Joe, who is undoubtedly looking to address the attack on himself and AEW WOrld Champion MJF last week. We’ll also hear from The Golden Jets Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho, hopefully about when they will challenge for the belts and not on their next move with Don Callis. Our focus will not be on a match as it usually is. Instead, we will focus on one of wrestling’s royal families returning to television, the Von Erichs!

The Von Erichs back in Dallas…back on Television
While many will look at the Von Erich’s appearance as an attempt to capitalize on the buzz of The Iron Claw, this is a long overdue honor for this innovative family. The tragic story of the curse of the Von Erichs casts a long shadow over the family, and that shadow has sadly hidden their contributions to the business from the eyes of many.
You could easily point to their contributions in the ring opposite their rivals in The Freebirds, but one of their most overlooked contributions is in the presentation and production of wrestling. Modern entrances, different camera angles, and more were staples of the family’s organization, World Class Championship Wrestling. In that regard, they were innovative and ahead of their time but ultimately fell to the expansion of what would become the WWE.
Though we don’t know in what way the Von Erichs will be involved, it will be great to see one of wrestling’s royal families on screen. Who knows? This may lead to an extended run or contract for Kevin Von Erich’s sons, former MLW Tag Team Champions Ross and Marshall Von Erich.
