Tensions Boil Over In Men’s WarGames Match
Tensions have been threatening to boil over in the men’s division, especially on the Raw brand. The Judgement Day has been running rampant, looking to establish their dominance over the brand and they finally met a group that is ready to take them on.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn all had their individual issues with the stable, and in recent weeks, they have fallen into alignment with the common enemy – The Judgement Day.
Drew McIntyre joined forces with The Judgement Day and even won the advantage match for his side on the November 20 edition of Raw. To balance the numbers, Rhodes revealed that Randy Orton would make his return from injury to join their team.
The match is now a 5-on-5 affair and, after weeks of attacks and beatdowns, the two sides get to settle their issues inside the steel structure that is WarGames.
Damage CTRL Is Bigger And Better?
Damage CTRL has grown in numbers in recent weeks, following the addition of Kairi Sane and Asuka. Bigger typically means better but, at Survivor Series, the stable finds itself in the position of working together as a unit for the first time.
They will be going up against the team of Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch. All four of these women have history with each other but have also proven to work really well together, and that could prove problematic for Damage CTRL.
WWE Women’s Champion, Iyo Sky, has experience in this match-up having fought in every single women’s WarGames match in the WWE’s history. But this could prove futile if tensions within other members of Damage CTRL arise.
Unlike the men’s advantage determiner, the women’s match will have the advantage determined by a sponsored fan vote. Survivor Series will be a true test for Damage CTRL and, for their opponents, it will be a chance to cut the arising problem that is the stable short.
Gunther And The Miz Clash For Intercontinental Championship
Gunther is the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time, with his time with the title going over 530 days. Many agree that he is also the most dominant champion of all time and has managed to clear several major challengers who once stood in his path.
The Miz has now found himself next in line to challenge Gunther, and it all started because the champion expressed his lack of respect for The Miz.
Eventually, The Miz would win a fatal four-way match that promoted him to the number one contender spot. As a result, The Miz gets the chance to capture the Intercontinental Championship for the ninth time in his career. If he wins, The Miz would tie with Chris Jericho for the most reigns with the title (9).
Gunther is quite the obstacle to achieving that though, and the two will hash out their grudge in the ring once and for all at Survivor Series.
Rhea Ripley Looks To Add Zoey Stark To Her List Of Conquered
Rhea Ripley has a stronghold over the Raw women’s division but, in recent months, more and more wrestlers have challenged her authority.
‘The Eradicator’ dispersed a majority of the competition in the fatal five-way at Crown Jewel but one challenger remains persistent. Zoey Stark, although unsuccessful in that fatal five-way match, took part in a battle royal and won the match to become the number one contender for the Women’s World Championship.
Ripley is currently the second longest-reigning champion with the title, and she still has over 100 days to go until she moves into that number one spot. On the road to getting that accolade, Stark could be a great addition to Ripley’s list of conquered superstars but she should not underestimate Stark.
Coming from being under the tutelage of Trish Stratus, Stark has proven on more than one occasion that she can get things done, and she will look to apply that in what is arguably the biggest match of her career.
Carlito Looks To Teach Santos Escobar A Lesson
Many could argue that Santos Escobar purposefully sabotaged Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel during his match with Logan Paul. LWO member Carlito did not mince his words as he called Escobar out for his actions.
Soon enough, Escobar turned on Mysterio and the rest of the LWO by injuring the master of the 619, thus turning heel. Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, and Zelina Vega confronted Escobar about his actions and this turned physical.
Carlito will look to teach Escobar a lesson at WWE Survivor Series 2023, effectively giving him his LWO severance package.
