The road to All Elite Wrestling’s Full Gear reaches its final stop. A peculiar stop. As due to the conflict with the NFL, Full Gear is set to take place on Saturday. However, this year saw the introduction of AEW Collision every Saturday. Due to all this, AEW has opted to hold this week’s episode of Collision on Friday instead of Saturday. Leading to the show going head-to-head with SmackDown. And unlike the battle between AEW Dynamite vs. NXT a month ago, it’s just business as usual for both promotions.
As such, we have a doubleheader tonight from the Kia Forum in Inglewood/Los Angeles, California. A venue not really noted for wrestling. As besides AEW’s debut in the venue last year, the only documented wrestling event held here, back then known as the Great Western Forum, was a WCW house show on January 22, 1991.
This show had a hell of a line-up from the time period, including matches like The Steiner Brothers defeating The Fabulous Freebirds to retain the US Tag Team titles. Doom defeating Arn Anderson and Barry Windham in a Street Fight to retain the World Tag Team titles. Lex Luger battled Sid Vicious for the US title, and the headlining match is none other than Ric Flair retaining the WCW World Championship against Sting.
Tomorrow is a special Episode of #AEWCollision. It’s on Friday. Our theme song is “Saturday Night’s Alright”. What a dilemma!
Don’t matter what night it is, tomorrow, this will be a mf fight. https://t.co/W2qWcpfx3Y

With that in mind, let’s preview part one of AEW’s doubleheader for tonight. AEW Collision.
Miro’s Not Impressed By Garcia’s Dance
Last week on AEW Collision, Andrade El Idolo came out with CJ Perry. Taking up her offer to be his manager. Their first match together saw Andrade facing off with Daniel Garcia. Fresh off challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship days before on Dynamite. Despite the former ROH Pure Champion’s best, Andrade was able to triumph.
However, Daniel Garcia did something of note during the match: He danced in front of CJ Perry. And Miro was not impressed. Not exactly violating CJ’s one demand of not attacking her clients, Miro is still targeting people who do interact with her outside of being managed by her officially. Can Garcia groove his way to victory, or will Miro stomp him into a Game Over?
Champions Tune-Up
We get a surprisingly rare instance of the AEW Women’s World Champion and the TBS Champion teaming up. As respective Champions, Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander team up to take on The Outcasts, Saraya and Ruby Soho. This match comes just one day before both Champions defend their titles on Full Gear.
Hikaru Shida has her third outing with Toni Storm for her title, while Kris Statlander defends against her two previous challengers at once, Skye Blue and Julia Hart. Can the Champions prevail, or will The Outcasts do what they do best and derail the babyfaces?
Your Friday Lucha Match, But On Another Show
As stated many times in these previews, AEW always has one noted lucha libre-styled match every Friday. But this week, it’s still the same night. But on another show. One of the biggest stars of the 2010’s in Arena Mexico, Rush, takes on a man with a rather understated resume of great one-on-one matches in Dax Harwood.
It will be a very interesting match, as while Dax is no stranger to wrestling luchadores and having fantastic matches, Rush is a totally different cat in the ring. Far more focused on his intense offense and showmanship than the kind of high-flying action you’d expect. Let us see how these two clash.
All that and more as Full Gear looms tomorrow on tonight’s Friday edition of AEW Collision.
