WWE Raw Preview 10/30/23 – DIY Reunion

WWE Raw Preview 10/30/23-Raw Logo

The week begins, so that means it’s time for WWE Monday Night Raw. As we return to the former BI-LO Center, now the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. A very common site for weekly pro wrestling since opening in 1998. It’s first ever event was the September 14th, 1998 edition of Monday Nitro. A very memorable episode for a variety of reasons. For one, it had the first siting of none other than Chucky from the movie “Child’s Play” stalking Rick Steiner. It had Sting vs Goldberg in the main event for the World Championship and one of the most memorable segments in Nitro history where Arn Anderson reformed The 4 Horsemen and brought back a sorely missed Ric Flair to a massive reaction from Flair Country followed by an amazing scathing promo by Flair directed at Eric Bischoff. One the best Nitro episodes you’ll ever see, just before things started to go south for the brand in 1999. Let’s preview this week’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw.

WWE Monday Night Raw: Full Card and Preview: 10/30/23

It’s A Halloween Edition Of Raw

With Halloween just a day away, it should not be shocking that Halloween decorations are all over. As always for holiday themed WWE shows there’s a gimmick match. And Halloween always has that good ol’ “Trick Or Street Fight”. This time, it’s Natalya vs one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Chelsea Green. Likely surrounded by pumpkins, tables with candy, those candy-corn painted kendo sticks and the works. These matches can usually provide pretty good comedy. Let’s see how it measures up tonight.

JD’s Big Shot

JD McDonagh has been chasing The Judgment Day for their approval now for months. And now winds up finding himself against none other than the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. A first for the long standing Irish wrestler as the 15 year veteran has held gold in many wrestling companies. He has never quite had such a large opportunity as going toe to toe with one of WWE’s World Champions on Monday Night Raw. Can the ‘Irish Ace’ prove his meddle to both fans and his seniors in The Judgment Day? Or will Seth just brush off the former Cruiserweight Champion and go off to face Drew McIntyre at Crown Jewel unfettered?

The Big DIY Reunion

We spent months being teased with the reunion. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano finally met up a few weeks on Raw. Tonight is the big in-ring return for the duo that defined an entire era of NXT weekly TV. This will be their first tag team match back together since WWE’s NXT vs NXT UK event, World’s Collide on January 2020. They take on a team that actually headlined that World’s Collide show, Imperium: Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser. Despite these two tag team having runs close to each other on NXT, they’ve never actually faced off in a tag team match setting. Will we get the best of these two teams in the ring? Can Imperium regain their leader Gunther’s favor? Or will DIY have a successful return to the ring?

Former And Current Champion Clash

A peculiar match is set as the current NXT North American Champion, Dominik Mysterio, is set to face off against the first ever Champion, Ricochet. What’s peculiar about this match is that it seems to be an accessory to Rey Mysterio’s United States title match against Logan Paul set for Crown Jewel. Yet, it’s a Raw match where neither of those two will be involved. This all comes from last week where Logan Paul appeared on Raw with Dominik. Ricochet, Logan’s opponent from SummerSlam appeared, retracing their feud. That all veered into this match. As the current North American Champion is set to face the first man to hold that gold. The title is not on the line nor is it really a focal point of the match. Can Ricochet finally get on a winning lane after his loss at SummerSlam to Logan Paul and recent loss to Shinsuke Nakamura? Or will Dominik prevail regardless of the match not being for his title?

What Else is on Tap for the Halloween Edition of WWE Monday Night Raw?

Also scheduled for the show is Xia Li, now without any chance to challenge Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship, taking on Candice LeRae. Speaking of “The Man”, now that her reign as Champion has ended, what’s next for Becky? Not to mention that there’s a 5 Way Women’s title match scheduled for Crown Jewel, but no segment revolving it announced for tonight. All that and more on this Halloween themed edition of Raw. Keep an eye out for this cosplays and references.
