This week’s episode of WWE NXT is a special one as week one of Halloween Havoc takes place. It’s a stacked card as two championships are on the line, an exciting in-ring debut is set to happen, the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament rolls on, and some intriguing Halloween-inspired matches take place.
To make it all the more better, SmackDown superstar Shotzi will serve as the host of the event. Here is all you need to know ahead of the October 24 edition of NXT.

History Will Be Made As Becky Lynch Defends Championship Against Lyra Valkyria
Becky Lynch has been very active as the NXT Women’s Champion defending the title on both NXT and Raw. At Halloween Havoc week one, ‘The Man’ defends the title against a fellow Irish countrywoman in what will surely be a historic moment. Lyra Valkyria has cited Lynch as her greatest inspiration and now their paths cross for the first time.
There have been notable Irish wrestlers who have stepped into the squared circle but, with this match, this will be the first time that two Irish women compete against each other for a WWE championship. This is undoubtedly the biggest match of Valkyria’s career and, although she could be considered the underdog heading into the match, the rising star could also prove to be the greatest threat to Lynch’s reign thus far.
This promises to be an exciting match-up as a classic mentor versus mentee bout which could highlight the parallels and contrasts between them. Valkyria heads into the bout with momentum coming off of a victory over former title challenger Tegan Nox on the October 17 edition of NXT.
Lynch will have to successfully retain the title against Indi Hartwell – a former champion in her own right – on the October 23 episode of Raw if she wants to head into Halloween Havoc still the reigning and defending champion.
Chase U Looks To Add NXT Tag Team Gold To The Camp
The Family won the NXT Tag Team Championships at The Great American Bash and have held the titles for over 85 days. At the No Mercy PLE, Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo successfully defended their championships against three other teams in a fatal four-way match.
With that victory, The Family solidified their spot at the top of the tag division but Chase U‘s Andre Chase and Duke Hudson look to pull the rug from beneath the champions.
The two teams have met twice before, in November 2022 and February 2023, and this match will mark the third meeting between them. Chase U remains one of the most popular acts of NXT and they look to turn it up a notch by adding the NXT Tag Team Championships to the school halls for the first time.
The Family has fought hard to establish dominance over the tag team division and looks to remain firmly placed at the helm of the division. But the challengers are ready to enroll the entire division into Chase U.
High-Stakes NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament Semi-Finals Match-Ups
The semi-finals of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament will be a feature point of the October 24 NXT. Two intriguing match-ups will entertain fans as the stakes could not be higher. The fate of the NXT Women’s Championship will be decided on WWE NXT Halloween Havoc week one and two superstars will inch their way closer to getting their shot at gold.
One of the matches will be combat specialist Karmen Petrovic going up against fan-favorite Lola Vice. The other match will be between naturally athletic Kelani Jordan and Arianna Grace, who is ready for her bounce back. A win for either of these women will result in a spot in the finals on week two of Halloween Havoc. These matches provide a glimpse into the near future of NXT.
