Alright sure, the stadium stampede match is a bit of a gimmicky hangover from when the world shut down, but let’s look at it for what it is. This seems like as good a time as any to talk about a few reasons why people should be excited for this match when the time comes for AEW All In London this weekend.
Eddie Kingston is back from Japan and has issued a challenge to the BCC…

Reason 1: Genuine real-life relationships
Eddie Kingston, as great as he is, has rubbed some people the wrong way in his career. One such person that he has real-life beef with is Claudio Castagnoli. Their issues stem all the way back to the Indies and over the years, they haven’t exactly made up and hung out after the show each week. They still don’t get along which will always lead to fun story-driven content.
Add to the fact that Claudio is teaming up with his Blackpool Combat Club buddy, Jon Moxley. Again, it is no secret that Moxley and Kingston basically grew up together in the Indies and are real-life best friends. So what does this mean for the match? Will Mox have to choose between his best friend or his stablemate? The drama is there, even if it is in a stampede match.
Reason 2: Largest crowd to ever see a stadium stampede match
The original stampede match was in an empty Jaguars stadium and all around the building. The only people there were wrestlers and crew. Fast forward to AEW All In London and think about how this match will work not only at Wembley but a Wembley that has a record-breaking crowd in it. It sounds like TK might be pulling back a bit on the whole “don’t bleed in the crowd” rule for this one. It just seems that a match like this in a stadium this large with a crowd of this magnitude is going to be even more insane than usual.
Reason 3: The return of Santana and Ortiz as a team
Everything seemed like it had been flipped upside down when reports that Rey Fenix would not be able to make the trip to London due to visa and travel issues. The question of who will replace him came into play and as it turns out, after brutally being attacked by the BCC on Dynamite, nobody will replace him and it will just be a 5 on 5 match.
The question still remained, do they pull from AEW talent already on the roster or do they surprise us? The answer seems to be both. Santana and Ortiz returned united on Dynamite to the surprise and delight of many. The reuniting of this fan favorite team could really make headlines that even the biggest WWE super fan would not be able to ignore.
What are your thoughts on the biggest stadium stampede match ever? Are you excited about it or do you just want it to end so we can all get to MJF and Adam Cole faster? Either way, this is sure to be a fantastic show and the wrestling community should be thrilled about whatever we are about to witness!
