AEW’s sophomore stint in the MVP Arena of Albany, New York continues tonight with another edition of AEW Rampage. The last time AEW Rampage took place here was on September 16 last year when Darby Allin defeated Matt Hardy to open and the main event saw Samoa Joe defeat Josh Woods to retain the Ring Of Honor World Television Championship.
Woods had fellow Varsity Athletes partner Tony Nese in his corner while Samoa Joe was cornered by then TNT Champion Wardlow.

Tag Team Battle Royal
We had a two-ring gauntlet style battle royal last week and it seemed to pique interest. So AEW decided to double down apparently. This week tag teams gather in the ring with the winners receiving the next shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships after FTR’s title defense this Saturday on AEW Collision against Adam Cole and World Champion MJF. As it stands, here are the teams announced:
- The Hardys
- Brian Cage & Big Bill
- Chaos Project
- Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal
- Satnam Singh & Jay Lethal
- ‘Cool Hand Ang’ Angelo Parker & ‘Daddy Magic’ Matt Menard
- The Butcher & The Blade
- Brother Zay & Ethan Page
One We May Have To Hold Off On
On AEW Dynamite, it was announced that Scorpio Sky would be facing off against Kip Sabian. It would be Scorpio Sky’s second match since his injury and loss of the TNT Championship over a year ago on July 6th, 2022. His first being a victory over Action Andretti on Collision three weeks ago.
However, it was reported as the show went on that the match would have to be changed as Scorpio Sky was not cleared to compete. As such, Komander vs. Kip Sabian will take its place instead. Not much has been seen of Kip Sabian lately. While Komander comes off a loss to Gravity at ROH’s Death Before Dishonor.
Chasing The Title
Hikaru Shida takes on longtime rival Nyla Rose intending to defeat her to then challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship. These two have had three previous one one-on-one matches. Two of them being on Pay-Per-View and for the mentioned AEW Women’s World Championship.
Shida has won two matches. Both of those being the two mentioned PPV matches. While Nyla Rose was able to defeat Shida during the TBS Championship tournament. That was the last time they met one one-on-one. They’ve however also had many tag team and trios matches. The feud re-ignites tonight.
All that, plus Ring Of Honor’s The Kingdom. The duo of Matt Taven and Mike Bennett alongside Maria Kanellis-Bennett are set for tag team action. As well as more matches will be added to AEW’s upcoming programs on tonight’s edition of AEW Rampage.
