It was revealed on social media some time ago that one of the most notable and influential independent wrestlers of the 2000s had worked for All Elite Wrestling recently under a producer role. This came after New Japan Pro Wrestling commentator and translator Chris Charlton posted a photo with the said wrestler, Chris Hero, before the cross-over Pay-Per-View event between AEW and NJPW, Forbidden Door.

An Indie Legend is Now Officially #All Elite

It can now be confirmed that Chris Hero has signed on to AEW for a producer role. Chris Hero is #AllElite. For those that don’t know, Chris Hero is a notable wrestler of the independent scene during the decade of the 2000s. Having notable stints for all the notable promotions of the era including Ring Of Honor, which was purchased and under the ownership of AEW president Tony Khan.

A Storied Career

The most notable period for Chris Hero has to without a doubt be his time alongside the current ROH World Champion, Claudio Castagnoli. Together, the two were an impressive tag team known as The Kings Of Wrestling. Together, they won Tag Team Championships in many places including Combat Zone Wrestling, CHIKARA, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, and Ring Of Honor. This included a memorable feud between ROH and CZW where he led a CZW invasion of ROH. Which eventually led to the duo joining ROH full-time.

Chris Hero also had a lot of success as a singles star. Primarily for the well-known Pro Wrestling Guerrilla where he was a former World Champion and winner of the Battle Of Los Angeles in 2008. He also saw much of that success in CZW as World and Iron Man Champion. As well as EVOLVE.

In late 2016, Chris Hero signed with WWE, becoming a part of the NXT brand under the ring name Kassius Ohno where he primarily worked as more of a high-level enhancement talent for the brand and in 2019 moved to NXT UK before being released on April 2020. Since then, Chris Hero had remained mostly inactive in the ring and for the most part working for West Coast Pro Wrestling as a booker. A promotion based in San Francisco.  Let us now see what the wrestling veteran brings to AEW’s table.
