#AndNEW: Luchasaurus Dethrones Wardlow to Win TNT Title

Luchasaurus wins TNT Title on the first episode of AEW Collision.

On the inaugural night of All Elite Wrestling’s first episode of AEW Collision, Holder of the AEW TNT Title, Wardlow was defeated by Luchasaurus with outside interference from manager Christian Cage, ending Michael Wardlow’s record-setting third reign as champion at 59 Days.

The “War Dog’s” War Path Comes to an Abrupt Halt

Wardlow originally won his record-setting third championship by defeating Will “Powerhouse” Hobbs on the 19th of April episode of AEW Dynamite, after losing the title to Hobbs six weeks before the win. Wardlow would have a successful championship match against Christian Cage at Double or Nothing in a Ladder Match effectively ending their rivalry. However, the rivalry would only be enhanced due to outside interference from “Captain Charisma” leading to Luchasaurus’ victory.

Luchasaurus, the former Vibora of Lucha Underground and the former Judas Develin of WWE NXT is quite familiar with championship gold in his history winning tag and trios championships in Lucha Underground, All-Star Wrestling and in All Elite Wrestling alongside former tag team partner “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry. Luchasaurus’ TNT Championship win is the first singles championship of his mainstream wrestling career outside his singles gold in Millennium Pro Wrestling and winning the comedic DDT Ironman Heavymetal Championship.

With this win, Luchasaurus is the fourth oldest person to hold the TNT Title, only behind Samoa Joe, the late Mr. Brodie Lee, and Scorpio Sky.
