John Cena’s catchphrase of “You Can’t See Me” couldn’t be more irrelevant this summer as you’ll be able to see him in practically every movie at the cinema. It’s the summer of John Cena movies so we’ve compiled this handy guide to all his flicks.
Cena got off to a ‘fast’ start in his bid to be in every summer blockbuster with his role of Jakob in the May release Fast X.
Cena will prove he’s anything but a one-trick pony. He’ll play everything from a mutant rhinoceros and plastic doll to the vacation friend you can’t shake and a man that blows lots of things up. Here, we give you our guide to The Summer of John Cena movies.

The Movie: Barbie
The Role: Ken
Release Date: July 21

One of the most hotly anticipated summer blockbusters is Barbie starring Margot Robbie as the titular character. The movie promises to be a camp and glitzy nostalgia trip based on one of the best-selling toys of all time.
John Cena has landed the role of Barbie’s top accessory – Ken. Cena is one of seven confirmed actors to play Ken in the movie, according to IMDB. Ryan Gosling will play the main Ken opposite Robbie.
Cena will play Merman Ken, the love interest of Dua Lipa’s Mermaid Barbie.
The Movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
The Role: Rocksteady
Release Date: August 2

Cena has snatched the Rocksteady role from fellow WWE superstar Sheamus, who played the iconic rhino in the TMNT: Out Of The Shadows movie.
Cena will be tag-teaming with Seth Rogan who voices Rocksteady’s partner in crime Bebop. It continues the trend of TMNT and wrestling working in tandem. Kevin Nash played Super Shredder in 19991’s TMNT 2.
In one of the most bizarre WWF matches of all time Gillberg and Barry Hardy dressed as TMNT – or Toxic Turtles – and defeated Tommy Stevenson and Ron Preston in two minutes. This took place on a 1993 WWF Wrestling Challenge taping.
WWE also launched a couple of ranges of TMNT action figures dressed as WWE superstars including The Undertaker, John Cena, Macho Man Randy Savage, Finn Balor, Sting, Roddy Piper, and The Ultimate Warrior.
The Movie: Vacation Friends 2
The Role: Ron
Release Date: August 25

Cena returns to the role of conniving vacation friend from hell/ misunderstood sweetheart Ron in Vacation Friends 2.
Vacation Friends tells the story of soon-to-be-wed Marcus and Emily meeting wild Ron and Kayla on vacation. A crazy night out sparks a series of catastrophic events. Vacation Friends 2 promises much of the same.
The Movie: Hidden Strike
The role: Chris Van Horne
Release date: Unconfirmed
Watch If You Like: Things blowing up
If all the above movies sound a little low-octane and dare we say chill, don’t worry. Cena more than makes up for it as Chris Van Horne in Hidden Strike. Cena – sorry Van Horne – teams with Jackie Chan’s Luo Feng to try and stop some criminals from blowing up an oil site.
In the process, Van Horne and Luo Feng blow loads of things up while sounding like a WCW jobber team. They blow up buildings. They blow up trucks. They blow up bikes. They blow up people. At one point in the trailer, we see Cena and Chang standing on a cute-looking tower. Then someone blows it up.
The Movie: Coyote vs. ACME
The role: ACME Corporation’s CEO
Release date: TBA
Watch if you like: Looney Toons/ Wile E. Coyote
Sick and tired of ACME’s products being used to cause him pain Wile E. Coyote sues the corporation. Cena is cast to play the ACME CEO that Coyote goes up against.
It’ll be a fun role to see Cena as the corporate bad guy against the lovable cartoon Coyote.
The movie was set to be released on July 21 but Warner Bros. has decided to delay the release to give that date to the Barbie movie.
