Sky(e) is the Limit
Almost four years ago in the same building, a competitor by the name of Riho pulled out the upset of the century. She managed to slay “The Native Beast” Nyla Rose to become the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion. Due to her size, everyone was counting her out but she managed to do the impossible.
This week, another underdog looks to have the same success as Skye Blue looks to dethrone reigning champion Toni Storm. Blue put a valiant effort on last week’s AEW Rampage, outlasting mainstays like Rose, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., and Mercedes Martinez.
Skye has the opportunity of a lifetime on this upcoming edition of Dynamite. However, she faces an uphill battle. Storm has been one of the most dominant competitors the division has. She spectacularly dethroned former Jamie Hayter back at Double or Nothing, and it’s a guarantee that she won’t relinquish control of the title that easily.
Toni Storm defends the AEW Women’s World Championship against Skye Blue! Who will walk away with their arm raised high and title in hand?
Adam Cole’s First Test
In classic MJF fashion, the AEW World Champion landed himself in hot water by running his mouth. On last week’s Dynamite, “The Salt of the Earth” made his way to the ring. Then, proceeded to ridicule the #AllElite fans and claim that “nobody is on the level of “The Devil.”
Unfortunately for him, there is somebody on his level, and that somebody is Adam Cole. The former Ring of Honor World Champion let MJF say anything and everything he wanted, making him think he was in control of the situation. In the end, Cole proved to everyone why he’s one of the best and most intelligent competitors in professional wrestling over the past 15 years.
Adam gave MJF a piece of his mind, calling the world champion a coward and somebody who has not gained the respect of his peers. This infuriated MJF so much that he fell into the trap, unconsciously agreeing to a match for this upcoming episode of Dynamite
This Wednesday, Adam Cole gets a chance to secure a world title match if he could win this eliminator matchup against MJF himself. Will Cole punch his ticket for a world title shot or will MJF silence the naysayers?
