2023 WWE Draft Could Mark A Turning Point

WWE Draft announcement - graphic for Triple H appearing to announce the news

On last week’s edition of WWE SmackDown, HHH announced that the WWE draft would be returning in a few weeks. Although no date was given, the idea of the draft at a time like this was interesting. Not only because the WWE had been the subject of controversy because of Vince McMahon’s return, but the roster is also in flux due to rumors that the talent is not happy with their roles.

The WWE Draft Is Returning

Triple H made the announcement halfway through last Friday’s edition of SmackDown. One has to wonder if HHH will move, as he hinted at this draft forever changing the game. It will be interesting to see how he is involved with that statement. Could he be returning to wrestling?  Could he have a role come the WWE draft? Or could the game be changed due to an incoming free agent?

This draft has caused quite a conversation as we do not know what to expect. Triple H also said that everyone on the roster is eligible for the draft, which causes more intrigue. A.J. Styles, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Alexa Bliss could return and move to a different brand.

The WWE draft could also change the outlook for factions in the WWE. Judgment Day and Damage CTRL  could be ones to watch to see if they split up. With Judgment Day and Rhea Ripley winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship, she is likely to stay, but the remaining members are not so safe. On the other hand, Damage CTRL leader, Bayley, could be separated from her stablemates after losing back-to-back feuds with RAW’s top women. Could Seth Rollins move because his segment was short on RAW?

With Endeavor taking over, there are rumors that things could change. Could this play a factor in the WWE draft? With Vince McMahon again taking over, this draft has everyone wondering what he has in store to revive the audience and their interest in the current product. Endeavor could also look to cut down the roster, making cuts across the board.

As a fan base, we do not know how this draft will shake up the roster, creativity, and behind-the-scenes. Will the WWE draft occur to shake things up, or is this to build new, longer storylines that make sense? The WWE and creative need to take a long, hard look at how this may play out for future stories, not just now. The WWE as a promotion is in a tough spot right now, and this draft may help get back on track or could be a complete disaster. With talk that many superstars are not happy, that could also heavily impact this WWE draft.
