The Quest to Stay Elite
Only seven days removed from his international dream match with El Hijo del Vikingo, the “God of Pro Wrestling” Kenny Omega will defend the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship against the mastodon Jeff Cobb.
Kenny had a lot of ups and downs over the past week. He defeated Vikingo in a stellar bout, but also saw his The Elite stablemates The Young Bucks get sent to the hospital due to a brutal attack that occurred before Dynamite went on the air.
However, Omega needs to get his head in the game because this IWGP U.S. Title defense isn’t like the rest. Kenny finds himself opposite an over 260-pound, former two-time IWGP Tag Team Champion and one-time NEVER Openweight Titleholder. AEW fans are all too aware of how dangerous Jeff Cobb is and Kenny Omega better be ready because one misstep can cost him the gold he so proudly wears.

It’s been a grueling past nine months for Adam Cole. From being one of the biggest stars in AEW to not knowing if he would ever wrestle again, Cole finally makes his in-ring return this Wednesday night against Daniel Garcia of the Jericho Appreciation Society. Since Adam’s absence from AEW, many things have changed, including the meteoric rise of Garcia to the sport’s upper echelon.
Cole is stepping into a new landscape, far from what he knew a year ago. Nevertheless, Adam did say that he’s still one of the industry’s best professional wrestlers. Moreover, he stated that this match with Garcia is not only his return match but the statement bout that will put the whole AEW locker room on notice. That said, Daniel is stepping up to the plate, wanting to prove that he is the brightest and most exciting “sports entertainer” the world has right now.
