During AEW Rampage this week the participants were announced for the upcoming Face of The Revolution ladder match. Among the AEW wrestlers was the surprising announcement of luchador Komander. That has brought with it a whole new set of questions with many wondering just who is Komander and how has he earned a spot in AEW. In this article, we will be taking a look at one of lucha’s breakout stars and what to expect from him in the ring.

Like a lot of wrestlers in Mexico, Komander started early. He was born in 1998 and began his wrestling career in 2012! He primarily worked locally in his earlier years however and it wasn’t until 2017 that he decided to fully branch out and start making a go of it.
His career has started blossoming since becoming a part of Big Lucha, the gym and promotion ran by AEW’s Bandido. This has coincided with him being used more and more by AAA as well as getting bookings all over Mexico and abroad.
In late 2022, people started to catch on to how amazing Komander is, but 2023 has been his breakout year with him becoming a regular with Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) and Pro Wrestling Guerrila (PWG) on top of his high-profile work with AAA and Big Lucha. WrestleMania Week this year looks set to be the Komander show as he is a name tipped to steal the show and make himself into a major name overnight with his performances that week.
So, what has caused this Komander-mania to spring up? Well, it’s his creativity and awe-inspiring agility that has gained him a following. In a similar vein to El Hijo del Vikingo, his mastery of the ropes and use of them in his high-flying offense makes him a treat to watch. With Komander it is best to just sit back and watch the fireworks unfold, especially now that there is a ladder involved.
