This past Sunday, the world tuned in to Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Roughly 113 Million viewers tuned in, making the event the 3rd most-watched television program in the history of television according to Fox 5 New York. Shortly after winning their second Super Bowl title Quarterback and Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes along with the rest of the Chiefs, were awarded a custom WWE title that was waiting for him in the Kansas City Chiefs locker room in honor of winning this year’s Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes would later tweet out a picture with him and both the WWE Title and the Super Bowl Championship Trophy.
Kansas City Cheifs Awarded Custom WWE Title Belt
The special occasion would mark the second time the Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs received a Championship Title from WWE. Back in 2020, the Chiefs earned their first Super Bowl victory in half a century after defeating the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LIV. WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque tweeted a picture of the title for the Kansas City Chiefs organization. Patrick Mahomes would also tweet a picture of him holding the title over his shoulder.
WWE has had a history of awarding major sports teams with Championship titles and it is a practice that continues today.
