AEW continues its week in the Rupp Arena of Lexington, KY. A very well-known location for wrestling fans. The state of Kentucky rather famously very much enforced a “no bleeding” rule via its athletic commission which the WWE violated in 2006. This resulted in a 3-year ban from running events in the state. This came about as a consequence of that year’s Backlash PPV event. Where the main event of John Cena vs Triple H vs Edge for the WWE Championship had Triple H bleed. And in the infamous semi-main event match of Shawn Michaels and “God” vs Shane and Vince McMahon had Shawn bleed. Thankfully, Jon Moxley isn’t in town tonight for this AEW Rampage card.

The Hangman Prepares
On Dynamite, Hangman Page issued a challenge to Jon Moxley for a third match between the two in order to try and settle the long-standing score between the two. He expressed his intention to straight out knock him out as well. However, before we get to Wednesday, Hangman will have to face off against another member of the Blackpool Combat Club in the form of the current ROH Pure Champion: Wheeler Yuta.
Currently in his second reign, though the title isn’t on the line, given it’s a standard one on one match. The two have never faced off before, so it’ll be an interesting and fresh match-up. It’s also Wheeler’s fourth opponent to be a former World Champion after having battles with Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.
From Dark To TNT
The AEW Women’s World Champion Jaime Hayter has met many times with Emi Sakura, primarily on Dark, as she climbed the ranks of AEW over time. They face off yet again on Rampage tonight in an Eliminator match and as Hayter has said, she is not the same as she was when the two would constantly be on opposite sides of the ring on Dark.
The Book Is Closed This Week
No Book Of Hobbs this week. Instead, Powerhouse Hobbs will see action for the first time since his loss in the 3 Way match for the TNT Championship at the Full Gear Pay-Per-View event. Powerhouse Hobbs has gone back to basics with his Book of Hobbs vignettes to re-establish himself. And now, he goes back in to the ring.
All that and more, tonight on this AEW Rampage card.
