Preview: AEW Dark (01/17/2023) Start Time, How to Watch

AEW Dark Card 1/17

Tonight’s episode of AEW Dark looks to be an action-filled night, with seven matches set to take place. Speaking of action, Action Andretti is set to face off with Trustbusters’ Ari Daivari. Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta will face The Butcher and The Blade after both teams came up short in last night’s three-way tag, with Top Flight emerging victorious. Our focus for tonight will be on the clash between Kiera Hogan and Danika Della Rouge. Let’s take a look at the AEW Dark card for tonight.

Full AEW Dark Card (01/17/2022)

  • Brian Cook and Deimos vs. Sammy Guervara and Daniel Garcia
  • The Embassy’s Brian Cage vs. Carl Randers
  • Trustbusters’ Ari Daivari vs. Action Andretti
  • Jaiden vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
  • Danika Della Rouge vs. Kiera Hogan
  • J.A.S.’s “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard and “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker vs. Eddie Pearl and Ricky Gibson
  • Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta vs. The Butcher and The Blade

Danika Della Rouge vs. Kiera Hogan

For the first time in her AEW career, Kiera Hogan finds herself on a three-match losing streak. She’ll have a tough time regaining momentum as she faces Danika Della Rouge. Though she has yet to pick up her first AEW win, Danika has shown how capable she is inside the ring.

A graduate of the Buddy Wayne Academy, Danika has a solid training pedigree as many of today’s rising stars have graduated from Wayne’s school, including Invictus Khash, both members of C4 (Guillermo Rosas and Cody Chhun), Nick Wayne, and reigning AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin.

While I do believe Della Rouge has the ability to beat Hogan, I do not see that happening tonight. Hogan is on a losing streak, but two of those were championship matches against ROH Women’s Champion Athena, and the undefeated AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill. Hogan will win, but we will see a lot more of Danika Della Rouge.
